âI partly think
A due sincerity governed his deeds
Till he did look on me. Since it is so,Â
Let him not die. My brother had but justice,Â
In that he did the thing for which he died.â

âI partly think
A due sincerity governed his deeds
Till he did look on me. Since it is so,Â
Let him not die. My brother had but justice,Â
In that he did the thing for which he died.â
(5.1.510-514)
âWho thinks he knows that he neâer knew my body,Â
But knows, he thinks, that he knows Isabelâs.â
(5.1.229-230)
âIf she be mad - as I believe no other - / Her madness hath the oddest frame of sense, / Such a dependency of thing on thing, / As eâer I heard in madness.â
(5.1.69-72)
This reminded me of Hamlet. However, it also seemed like the Duke was trying to cover all of his bases, again not trying to upset anyone, calling her mad while also stating her madness is out of reason.
âYou bid me seek redemption of the devil.â
(5.1.32)
âLove talks with better knowledge, and / knowledge with dearer love.â
(3.2.152-153)
âRedeem thy brother
By yielding up thy body to my will,Â
Or else he must not only die the death,Â
But thy unkindness shall his death draw out
To lingâring sufferance.â
(2.4.177-181)
âIâll know / His pleasure. Maybe he will relent. Alas, / He hath but as offended in a dream. / All sects, all ages smack of this vice, and he / To die forât?â
(2.2.4-8)
âWe must not make a scarecrow of the law,Â
Setting it up to fear the birds of prey,Â
And let it keep one shape till custom make it
Their perch and not their terror.â
(2.1.1-4)
âOur doubts are traitors / And makes us lose the good we oft might win / By fearing to attempt.â
(1.4.85-87)
This reminded me of a motivational speaker or the quotes that all young athletes keep on their wall saying âYou miss 100% of the shots you donât take.â
âTherefore I prithee
Supply me with the habit, and instruct meÂ
How I may formally in person bearÂ
Like a true friar.â
(1.3.49-52)
âSith âtwas my fault to give the people scope, / âTwould be my tyranny to strike and gall them / For what I bid them do; for we bid this be done / When evil deeds have their permissive pass / And not the punishment.â
(1.3.38-42)
âI have great hope in that, for in her youth
There is a prone and speechless dialect
Such as move men. Besides, she hath prosperous art
When she will play with reason and discourse,Â
And well she can persuade.â
(1.2.180-184)
âO slave, of no more trust / Than love thatâs hired!â
(5.2.185-186)
âMardian, go tell him I have slain myself.Â
Say that the last I spoke was âAntony,â
And word it, prithee, piteously. Hence, Mardian,Â
And bring me how he takes my death.â
(4.13.10-13)
Honestly, this scene from Glee should not have come to mind haha, but it was an elaborate scheme to get the attention of a man soooo...
âThis foul Egyptian hath betrayed me.Â
My fleet hath yielded to the doe, and yonder
They cast their caps up and carouse together
Like friends long lost. Triple-turned whore! âTis thouÂ
Hast sold me to this novice, and my heartÂ
Makes only wars on thee.â
He quickly changed from love to hate.
(4.12.12-17)
âAnd thou art honest too. / I wish I could be made so many men, / And all of you clapped up together in / An Antony, that I might do you service / So good as you have done.â
(4.2.22-26)
âI saw her once
Hop forty paces through the public street,Â
And having lost her breath, she spoke and panted,Â
That she did make defect perfection,Â
An breathless pour breath forth.â
(2.3.269-273)
