dont 👏🏻 punish 👏🏻 a 👏🏻 film 👏🏻 filled 👏🏻 with 👏🏻 hundreds 👏🏻 of 👏🏻 hard 👏🏻 working 👏🏻 people 👏🏻 because 👏🏻 of 👏🏻 one 👏🏻 shitty 👏🏻 person 👏🏻 who 👏🏻 was 👏🏻 FIRED
It’s true that they worked hard and the film is great but it’s not enough that he was fired. The cast’s silence about what he did is not okay or acceptable and people who protect predators in any way don’t deserve idolization.
This isn’t even to say that it was already common knowledge that bryan singer was a pedophile and they chose to work w him anyway.
Ffs, put yourself in their shoes.
Imagine youre offered to play QUEEN. One of the most legendary bands of all time and you’re given the opportunity to portray one the members. The cast didn’t get a choice in who was chosen as director, it was thanks to the Directors Guild and Fox Film because of S*nger’s “convincing” pitch that this was his passion project. Rami was even considered for the role of playing Freddie LONG before S*nger was brought on board.
Not only did they not get much say in S*nger as director, but it’s not private information that the cast doesn’t like him, ie. Ben’s Instagram Post, Rami’s interview , and Tom Hollander’s leaving of the film because of his frustration with S*nger. Like jesus, S*nger even, reportedly, threw something at Rami while on set (I think it was electrical equipment?). Rami had complained and nothing was done. Don’t tell me that they enjoyed working with this horrible man. No, it was the love and support between the cast and other crew that helped them through hard times. They chose to stay to honour Queen’s and Freddie Mercury’s legacy.
Also, their silence does not mean they are “protecting” S*nger? Honestly, do you think that Joe, Ben, Gwil, Rami, Allen, Brian, Roger or anyone else involved with the film support a pedophile? Do you realize that they’re probably under so much stress and overwhelmed with this situation already? They lost their GLAAD nomination because of S*nger for gods sake! Also, notice how none of the cast or crew thank the man in acceptance speeches/interviews? Just because they are silent on such a tricky situation, though it’s obvious they aren’t comfortable with it, does NOT mean they are protecting or supporting S*nger.
do 👏🏻 not 👏🏻 cut 👏🏻 down 👏🏻 the 👏🏻 cast 👏🏻 or 👏🏻 crew 👏🏻 for 👏🏻 trying 👏🏻 to 👏🏻 protect 👏🏻 legacies 👏🏻 and 👏🏻 having 👏🏻 to 👏🏻 work 👏🏻 with 👏🏻 this 👏🏻 shithead 👏🏻 man
They had to sign NDA their silence is legal not personal
