│ Delia Morran │ 20 │ Human │ Lady of Polda │
➳Born a bastard, a scullery maid became a Lady. She was never supposed be anything more than a reminder of her father’s infidelity, a punching bag for her stepmother. But when her half-brother ran from his responsibilities and there were no others of Jette blood, she wad forced to step into a position she was never prepared for.
The little village of Polda was not a place where dreamers were meant to flourish. As a little girl, Delia would dream that one day a handsome prince would come to marry and take her to live in some beautiful kingdom where she would have exciting adventures every single day. Of course she loved Polda, small and boring as it was, it was still home. Delia feared that if she were to stay in Polda, then her life would pass by completely uneventful. As much as she wanted to leave her mark on the world, she had a duty to her home and her family that would always come first.
Delia could still hold out some small hope. On the sad day her father would die, her brother would become Lord of Polda and perhaps she could convince him to let her visit bigger towns and maybe even a different kingdom. However, even that hope was crushed when her father’s health began to deteriorate and her brother disappeared. He left a note saying he could not become Lord of Polda and he had left to pursue his dreams and no one in her family has heard from him since. Suddenly, the one thing she had always taken comfort in, that her fate wasn’t completely intertwined with Polda was gone and within a few months father was dead and she was forced into the Ladyship.
All that did not entirely quash Delia’s dreaming spirit. As she shakily learned the ropes of ruling, Delia realized that perhaps her father was not the best person to be ruling Polda. He had gambled away much of their fortune and didn’t seem to care about any of their people. With her mother’s guidance, Delia tried to correct some of her father’s mistakes and she was rewarded for it. Under her leadership, Polda has flourished, well as much as a place like Polda can. She has also begun to expand her lands’ connections, having befriended several powerful leaders of other kingdoms. Although Delia knows she still has a lot of work to do before Polda is ever considered a prosperous place, sometimes she lets herself hope that her dreams just might come true.
Matthew Jette { h a l f b r o t h e r }
Never kind to her, but never cruel either. She was but a background piece in his life and he was her source of envy. He had the love of the people and two parents, incapable of doing wrong in their eyes. One might say he abandoned her, but that implies that he was ever there for her. Delia neither loves nor hates him, for how can she feel something for someone she doesn’t know?
Grace Morran { m o t h e r }
It seems as though the only person who ever truly cared for her. She didn’t think it was possible to need her mother more than she needed her as a child, but if it weren’t for her guiding hand she would be lost and alone.
Madalena Rothshire { b e s t f r i e n d }
A rocky start at best, a friendship followed soon after. Madalena is a Queen with her kingdom to rule, so they don’t get to see each other but it doesn’t put a damper on her spirit or the strength of their bond. There are times when Delia secretly wishes that she could cast away her duties as Matthew did so that she could run to Dewsbury and have an adventure with her friend.
