she definitely read it, I’m unsure whether it was upon arriving home or if she was aware when she went to school already… I’m totally pissed at Mei for doing that.

For those of you who didn’t pick up on this, the scenes we see of Yuzu running around with all of her friends aren’t from the same day that Mei sends that note and leaves. It’s actually well, well after. Look at Matsuri here:

She’s wearing an Aihara Academy uniform, instead of her middle school uniform.

Then we’ve got the shots of Kayo and Suzuran, who were third years the last time we saw them.

Neither of them are wearing their uniforms when everyone else is, and Yuzu seems surprised to run into Suzuran out in public. To summarize, Matsuri, who was in middle school, is in high school now, and Suzuran and Kayo, who were just about to start their third year after the whole summer trip arc, iirc, appear to have graduated now. This isn’t all the same day, or even just a short time skip. If I’ve got my timeline right, Mei’s been gone for a full fucking year.
