Old Friends
c;
Hearing her name from Chrome quickly gave her a sense of relief, she was no longer alone in this new place, surrounded with unfamiliar faces that she couldnât even approach. She had Chrome, one of her precious friend, that thought alone could bring happy tears on the corner of her eyes, â Haru transferred school you see!!â she explained, trying to hold in the incoming sob, ââ I miss Chrome-chan so much, Haru thought she wouldnât see Chrome-chan for a loooong time.â she mutters, Haruâs smile breaking as she finally sobbed. Haru warps her arms around the guardian, pressing her cheek on hers.Â
She stayed close to her friend for a few minutes, using the moment to calm and straighten herself, âb-but what is Chrome doing here?â she asked in between sniffed, loosening her arms around her to moved back and face her again. Glossy brown eyes meets dark purple ones and this time Haru was smiling. â Hahi-!! come to think of it, You did say something about Bunkyoâ she laughed. How could she forget something that important? During those short calls with Chrome, she did tell them where she was. â Haruâs has been forgetful! I should have called you!â she adds, â Iâm sorry!â Â She should have looked apologetic, but the brunette was too happy and couldnât help, but grin instead.Â
" Chrome is still very cute I see" she teased, letting out another feminine chuckle, Chrome seems a lot brighter and prettier to Haruâs eyes, she must have grown while she was away. Admittedly the day Chrome left their home town, was one of the saddest day she could remember, the calls were nice, but it was different when she was there. She wishes Kyoko was here too, but theyâre all busy now.Â
"Do you think we can hang out for today,Chrome-chan?" she beamed, hooking her arms on hers. " Tell me everything that happened to you while Haru was away!"
Chrome was relieved that Haru at least had a friend in this large new city to hang out with. When Chrome had moved here, she generally had no one, which forced her to try to come out of that little shell she had created for herself. But, it wasn't like she was entirely forced because in doing so, this led to her being able to meet all sorts of new and wonderful people, some of them irreplaceable.
At the mention of why Chrome was in Bunkyo, caused the shy girl to merely tilt her head in question. Didn't she mention it to the Guardians and the girls that she was moving to Bunkyo? Irregardless, Haru seemed to have remembered, her laughter immediately filling up the space between them. Ah, the warmth filled her of seeing an old friend and made Chrome feel just that much more happier. She shook her head with a small smile, "... Don't worry... It's fine, Haru-san." And then a large grin appeared on her features and Chrome couldn't help but smile just a touch more broadly.
A blush tinted a little darker shade at her cheeks, averting her gaze down to the ground. "Th-Thank you... Haru-san is very c-cute... too." It seemed that Chrome still had trouble with her stutters, something that it would take awhile for her to get accustomed to not doing. Since it had been so long since she's seen her old friend, old habits come back harder then ever. However, a little part of Chrome wished that Kyoko was here as well, giving the three girls some of the break and comforts that their friendship offered her.
At the question, the eye-patched girl nodded her head, "Yes... I can hang-out for today." Even as Haru hooked her arms through Chrome's, a little bubble of excitement and happiness just blooming within her chest. "Um... B-before I start... H-How is everyone? Is Boss doing all right?" While she wanted to tell the exuberant girl of her life here in the busy city of Bunkyo, she knew that the Boss would be concerned about her, as well as the other people who lingered back at home. Taking the girl in her arm, she guided her down the street toward the original location that she had been set about going. It was her day off and she had been trying to find a gift for Oreki-san, even though he seemed to have... gone off somewhere.
A little, she could feel just the slight twinge of happiness and pain at the distance. Where had Oreki-san gone? Well, she hoped that he was all right and that he was doing well. "What is Haru-san doing here?" she decided to ask, pushing her slightly troubled mind to the side. After all, a part of her still couldn't quite get over the fact that they had... well... essentially...
