Hi! My name is Em, and I'm an English sixth form student studying politics, sociology, economics, and doing an EPQ about resource inequality and distribution.
My pronouns are they/he, I'm disabled (physically and mentally), and queer.
I'll be using this blog to talk about my journey through my A-levels, politics, and my pursuit of university and further education.
My response to an Oxfam campaign
I love migrants and refugees and people of colour and disabled people and trans people and queer people and women and everyone fighting to make a difference for good in the world! We have so much more in common than we have different. I was at the Together March and it was beautiful to see everyone united: all races, genders, sexualities, ethnicities, religions, and abilities, all marching to say no to division and hate. Love always wins <3 let's all love people as much as we can! I dream of living in a world where everyone is celebrated and loved and accepted, and all cultures are seen as beautiful and cool, and we all understand each other. I dream of living in a world without global warming and wars and conflicts. Where one country is struck by natural disaster, and everyone else rushes to help because we all care about each other. Where we can all be friends and shake hands and get along. Longer tables, not higher walls. Let's all share a meal together. I personally dream of building and running a homeless shelter or a soup kitchen one day so I can help feed and house people. No one deserves to suffer, and we all deserve a world where we can raise our children in, where bigotry is obsolete and we're only taught to understand each other.
Advice needed!
If anyone here knows a bit about the geographical landscape of Gulf countries (or any Arab/SWANA countries in general), could you please let me know in the comments? I'm looking for information in particular about how easy/difficult it is to grow food in the landscape, and what kind of foods can be grown there.
This is for my EPQ study on resource management. This area of the project is looking at food inequalities. Happy to elaborate!
