Medb noticeably grimaced. It was a painfully obvious expression, one that all too well revealed how she felt about what the other Servant said to her. She was clearly agitated, but Nobunaga’s calm response made Medb grow silent for a moment. Even she knew it would be foolish to escalate the conversation… at least, it would be to do so this quickly.
So, after a sharp inhale, Medb begins her retort.
“He had mentioned something about gaining another associate… but it seems your name was unimportant enough for him to fail to mention it.”
“As for this thing…” Medb trailed off, squeezing the figurine with her face until it broke. “You might have gotten away with a defense like that in Chaldea, maybe with another Servant, but not me.”
Medb dropped the remains of the figure, letting them scatter on the ground at their feet.
“If you’re going to use my likeness, you need permission. If you receive it, you’ve got to pay for the royalties, too.”
A brow quirked upwards at the initial statement, weight shifting onto one side as she crossed her arms. My, she was really good at pushing buttons, wasn’t she? It’s no wonder she could get so many wrapped around her finger. Still, Nobunaga didn’t become a feudal lord by falling to anyone’s taunts.
That didn’t mean, however, that seeing the other break the plastic in her hand didn’t strike a nerve. That was some money wasted that she’d have to earn back. Getting cash here was so much harder than back at Chaldea. A shame.
If she wanted to play ball, she’d play.
“Of course, of course. It wouldn’t be right of me to not seek your permission. I apologize for assuming I could. I hadn’t even known you were here to ask!”
A smile stretched her lips as she said the next words with a good dash of venom to boot.
“Victor had never mentioned you to me, after all. I had only learned of his lover from others he associated with. I had scratched you off the possibilities, since it lasted longer than a simple trice, you see.”
