The woods are full of dangerous creatures, horrible beasts that creep through the undergrowth under cover of darkness. Things that fear the holy light of the sun like the demons they are. Only the knights are strong and courageous enough to protect us from these creatures, going out into the woods and slaying the horrible beasts to keep us all safe. The strongest and bravest knight of them all is Arthur, his power is unparalleled and his courage could not be understated. Many knights participate in heroic raids on their dens and gatherings, driving back the demons from our lands. This is the tale of a world plagued by monsters. And the story of how some people came to see the truth about them

In the woods, a beast is resting on a rock in a clearing. It's a large mountain lion, its fur lavender with white spots adorning it. Something about the way the light hits it is off, making it look like it's glowing. How strange.

Noah is. Openly staring at the massive creature. That is definitely not a normal animal. He shuffled closer, crouching down and… poking it with a stick.

Huh is this...

“Holy shit! Grass!” She exclaimed. And normal, average grass. Not mind grass.

She looked around, confused. There she heard noise. She squinted, seeing a man fighting... Reapers? No, they seemed like stereotypical demons she heard tales of when young. She snuck in closer, hiding in the undergrowth and rocks so she could spy on the man better.

Arthur brought his blade down upon the beast, felling it with a mighty crash. He stopped for a moment to catch his breath, setting his boot on the creature’s head to take a small break without sacrificing his ability to jump back into battle.

This man seemed strong for a human. No doubt Annie could still kill him though. Although she’s not as strong as Verglas, she knew she has at least some capacity to kill, even with the new technology.

She moved sideways to get a better look, but accidentally stepped on a branch. She instantly controlled her demon, her horns and tail now gone. She wasn’t scared, but she would find it fun to play a little game with the other.

He whipped around at the noise, blade at the ready, but calmed a bit when he saw her. “You… what are you doing out here? It’s dangerous! The sun is almost below the horizon- come with me!” He is now determined to get her back to town. You cannot stop him-

She tried thinking of an excuse when she stood up and walked to him.

“Ah I-I’m sorry- I was with...” Wait, this is a knight, this must be before even her times. She decided to play it safe. “... A group and we were trying to head to the next town over. I think I got lost on the way. I heard fighting and snuck to see it. There I saw you battling those demons so heroically! It was amazing! And thank you sir for helping me.” She raised a hand towards the other.

“I see… Have you any idea where your group went?” He worried for their safety, especially this late.

He stood up a bit straighter and shook his head, a hint of fondness in the gesture. “I would suggest you steer clear of battles, it’s not safe for regular people in these forests.” No matter. “Come, the closest town is this way..”

Hmm-

She didn’t know where any towns were, so she pointed in a random direction. “I think... There? It’s difficult, really, in a place like this.”

She nodded, immediately going up to the man’s side, wrapping an arm around the other’s arm. “Thank you again. You know, is it possible for you to teach me how to defeat demons? Seeing you fight is... Inspiring me.” Really, she craves violence.

Hmm.. “Well, hopefully they reached their destination safely.” He didn’t have time to go get them as well.

He blinked at the suggestion. “Well, I am rather busy, but I suppose I can make a bit of time.” His smile became a wider, stretching into a grin. “Now follow me young maiden! If we hurry we can make it before light leaves the sky!”

... it is to be assumed that that is their name, and not, in fact, their species. It's clear that they're a child themself, no threat to wild's young.

Though, the fact that there seems to be some sort of black group resting inside of their mouth, obscuring the inside of it, and a black stem and leaf coming out of their head, they're certainly peculiar...

His hackles lowered and he crouched down a bit, tilting his head at them. “Hello moth.”

Notch came bumbling over and bonked his head against Wild’s leg, yipping loudly. Friend back!!

They went B3 at fang, and was about to go back to playing with notch, until wild ran in, making them jump back a fair bit. They blinked, just sort of looking at the other. It had a feeling that it should take things a bit carefully.

As always, their voice came out distorted and garbled.

He blinked slowly, approaching the tony creature with slitted eyes. “…who are you?” It was so… tiny. This was not what he was picturing.

They followed Wild for a bit, stopping as soon as he bolted. They were caught off guard by this, even surprised and concerned. •”I want to make sure they are all fine but- if I try to be there by myself..I could be considered a liar and make things go bad. I know there is a small pup in this world but- it’d be best if I find this out by myself someday. And knowing some things..I will have to be there for anyone whenever they are in danger or going through a bad moment, to be there for them and try to help!”• They thought, eventually deciding to sit in front of a tree and rest their back against said tree. They stared up at the sky, hoping the best for everyone.

Wild barreled through the trees, coming to a stop in front of the small clearing at the mouth of their cave. He growled, scanning the clearing and zeroing in on Notch.

•”Morning glories..morning glories..Ah- I think I know how they look like! All I have to do is find some of those flowers that have his favorite color or, something like that- And if I want something to be a small surprise..hmm..I probably shouldn’t ask him a certain question yet.“• They thought, letting out a few faint thoughtful hums. “Is there something you would like to do, or a place that you’d like to visit? And if you are okay with this, May I keep you a bit more of company and visit you again? I’d like to stay in contact with you.” They kept their tone soft and calm, seemingly being willing to keep him more company and visit him more often as long as he is okay with that.

“Hmmm…” He didn’t do much aside from train, hunt monsters, and… other activities, but if he had to guess.. “I suppose I might like to go on a… ‘road trip’ of sorts.” There were a few cities whose landmarks he would like to see for himself, not to mention the other, less grand sights.

He smiled softly. “That would be alright.” It might be nice to talk to someone who wasn’t a knight once in a while.

“Awe..Alrighty-” They did want to give Arthur some pats but, they won’t- not without his permission. Besides, they could give him a hug and receive a pat before, maybe that can happen again someday! And if they don’t recall mad, their possible friend smiled a bit there, Right? They weren’t too sure.. “Do you have a favorite flower?” They added, asking him out of curiosity as they decided to ask him either one question by one or two, although that may be sometimes.

He calmed a bit, his posture relaxing. Good. The unwanted physical contact was getting on his nerves. He hummed at the question. “I’ve always been partial to morning glories…”

Wild? There is someone playing with your child

“WHAT?!” He roared, leaving the other anon behind and bolting through the forest at top speed.

They smiled a bit, soon noticing the hesitation. They felt the other wouldn’t let them know where the smol is but- that’s okay! Maybe, they will be able to meet the smol someday! “Don’t worry, I’m not going to follow you a lot- only a bit! I don’t really..know where I can stay until it is daytime but, I will make sure that this place is safe after taking a small break-” They gave him a reassuring smile, as they are planning on doing what they said. And with that being said, they started following Wild.

He huffed. “Alright..” Well at least one of them was reasonable. Unless they were tricking him, but in that case they would be led right to Fang, so the problem would resolve itself regardless.

He crept through the forest, keeping an ear out for any suspicious sounds.

Hey Wild, What if you let that elf meet your pup just this time? They didn’t harm you and they do look like they are doing what they can to keep you and everyone else safe

“Ugh- no! Stop asking!” Leave him alone! The more they asked the less he wanted any of them anywhere near the pup. Why did they want to see him so badly, huh? Suspicious.

-Sadly, his own M!A was either paused or finished, but he didn’t really care about it. C was now wearing said mask, letting out a relieved sigh before he offered Echo a hand to show her that he won’t do any harm. C may or may not be able to remove it whenever he wants, despite the fact of needing one person for it to break. However, that probably changed.-

I assure you, I won’t cause you any harm, nor put you in any kind of danger. All I wish is to keep you some company and make sure that no one will get hurt by those traps again.

She just… stared at him, an almost-glare of suspicion on her face. Should she trust him? He helped with the traps, and he hadn’t tried anything since…

She gave him a soft smile, nodding slightly. She’ll try this ‘trust’ thing out, just once.

They noticed Wild is going somewhere, although they were unsure if he is going to be fine with them following him. “Will you be fine if I- stay with you for a bit longer, Wild?” They managed to ask.

He narrowed his eyes at them and nodded hesitantly. He wouldn’t lead them back, of course, but he would let them follow a bit further.

The thems!!!! Eventually, moth notices the eye from inside the cave, pausing playtime for a moment. They look over, before waving.

The massive creature chuckles, its head moving into the relative light of the stars. “Hello there little one.”

Notch does a lil chirp at them and nudges their side with its head.
