       The  rapid  quivering  of  antennae        was  hinting  at  a  monumental  discomfort  crawling  up  his  spine.  An  urge  to  switch  into  a  tinier  body,  to  flee   ;   which  would  likely  be  worse.  Something  screamed  this  would  be  a  grave  mistake.

They are moving that way they do when prey has been spotted; slowly, carefully; creeping closer an inch at a time, as if attuned to the vibrations on the ground.

"Oh, I don't know..." he croons, red eyes narrowing insidiously. "You don't look that large to me..." each individual finger stretches, climbing up the knobs of their spine unhurriedly to reach their shoulder, pattering. "I can open pretty wide," grip. "Will you stay very still for me, mm?"

unfortunately tav as main character will always be indefinitely funnier to me than durge bc yeah yeah, the story's all crafted around durge, puzzle piece fits and all but here we have this guy, kevin. kevin doesn't know fuckall abt whats happening. kevin just wanted to tend to his pumpkin farm. he's now the leader of many criminals and might be involved in a conspiracy. the emperor cant believe this guy made it. raphael is flabbergasted he has to bargain with the world's luckiest potato. the dead three r like 'this is the guy that foils my every plan? i am........ deeply ashamed'

BANG. The sound of a heavy iron pan hitting a skull. Followed by the sound of a sack of meat and bones, also known as a creepy man, to hit the ground. Aveline's breathing was heavy and fast, still holding her weapon over her shoulder with both hands. Ready to bash in that skull again. "You are a magnet for creepy people, you know..." Certainly, Vhaal was capable enough to defend himself. But she wasn't someone that sat by and watched her friends get harassed and do nothing.

He was sipping his tea with all of the grace and poise of a royal when the most aggravating noise pierced through the flimsy veil of his peaceful afternoon in the shade. Bang! The sound ripples. Loud, impossible to ignore; it makes him cringe. Must she be so terribly noise, all the time? That is what he gets for taking pity on such a terribly mundane creature, and letting her experience the joys of tending to his every whim, and being the sole carer of his long, cherished hair.

Vhaal'krin barely spares a glance, chin perched gracefully atop his dainty hands, willfully unaware of his surroundings, distracted by the shapes the leaves makes outside the window. Did the trees up here always wiggled around so restlessly? It made for the most entertaining visuals. "Why must you always be so loud..." he sighs, red eyes peering over the small bump of his shoulders to find a most unfortunate looking creature collapsed over the floor, his head tilted curiously at him and back at the girl, the most unamused look on his face.

Then, a cold, dismissive wave. "Shameless girl you are... you're one to talk," he pays no mind, a white tuft of hair tossed over his shoulder with a 'mph'. "Calling to every fiend within a within a twenty mile radius with your good hearted nature. You've got written all over your little apron..." he'll have her know good help is hard to find, and he will not be revisiting her contract over any swooning fiends any time soon.

"Raphael—!" the door swings open unceremoniously, storming in the room with all the unabashed confidence of someone ready to make a ruckus, only to be caught in something of a predicament; wide-eyed, his dainty feet stop dead in its tracks to stare for a singular moment of awe, gauzy lashes blinking at the half naked naked devil, as if unwitting, caught off guard at the most unexpected of sights—he cannot for the life of him remember what he came to yell at him for, but he's sure it was of mighty importance.

His red eyes avert almost immediately afterwards, a delicate hand partially shielding his peripheral vision in such a way that would have you swearing he cares for modesty. "Little devil..." the sing-songy voice coos to him, softening its jagged edges into something dangerously close fond—pleading, almost, as a resentful crease pinches his brow; and if asked, he'd adamantly deny the accusations. "Please, put your puffy shirt back on, I can't possibly yell at you like this..."

"Ngh—!" a pair of wide, red eyes flash in the inky blackness of the room, the quiet disrupted so abruptly he feels his own shallow heart race—fabric rustling, residual instincts of a lifetime on the run kicking, his claws sharp and ready to tear into flesh going for the throat before he could fully recognize what it was.

And when he does, his breath stops. His fingers curl inward, retreating—his expression softening, every survival instinct withering away to make room for something softer, something tender.

"Little God..." he coos, the clink of a dagger hitting the floor distinct against the dark room. His body feels malleable then, allowing himself to be crowded against the wall with little room to wriggle about. Vhaal'krin brings his hand to cradle his face in an effort to appease him, his thumb smoothing over old scars. "You're back earlier than expected... did you miss me too terribly?" he teases, but only in the most loving way he knows how.

A low, affectionate purr vibrates in the well of his throat with quiet, simmering satisfaction. He stops what he was doing, peering over the delicate arch of his shoulder, plucked petals scattered over the floor, surrounding him, as he lays the flower to rest in the ground, arching towards the touch; wisps of ivory weaved from his scalp like fine spider silk coil around the shape of its tendrils, his own pale neck outstretched and laid bare as he let himself fall backwards to be cushioned by it, pushing the crown of his head against its much too large shape.

Briefly placated by the gesture, his often turbulent temperament runs mild now, docile, as fair lashes flutter against the rosy apples of his cheek, and he lays against it like a coffin to be buried whole in. "Aaah..." a soft, breathy sigh parts through his pillowy lips with resigned longing. "Fine... I guess you can eat me now." he drawls halfheartedly, dragging its claws down against the tendril without pressure, cushioned against it, with no desire to leave.

The gentleness of her touch feels like a slap. It stings, it burns, and it is met met with sheer disbelief, with saucer-wide eyes like a child beguiled, entranced by a strange magic trick; and he watches, he stares, and he stares... with a quiet, simmering curiosity, trying to find something hidden.

And he smiles like he knows something she doesn't, and suddenly all of his soft edges feel too sharp, and she could cut herself on the edges of him unwitting. The shape of his mouth resembles a smile, but it is cold and insidious, and unkind, nothing like a smile should be.

Sharp claws snatch her wrist with unnecessary force, gripping it tight as if he wants to break it, digging its edges into the softness of her flesh. He leans in, and licks a wet stripe up her wrist, languidly, wiping the red rivulet of his own blood off her.

If the prior ulitharid had been... toying about its height at the worst of times, the now elder brain dragon made that which was prior seem almost tame. It did not speak, but the coy smile that grew on maw as it pulled up slightly spoke more than words could. // sorry had to throw even brattier mora at him

There is a long, outstretched silence in which Vhaal adamantly refuses to glance upwards and contemplate its massive form; petty thing, really—it knew well how he'd noticed its presence already—as though such a thing could be so easily ignored given its current scale. Still. When he finally does look up, his sly, red eyes narrow into thin, accusatory slit. "...your daddy issues are getting out of hand, you know?" he tells him in a casual, nonchalant way.

he pauses, then moves towards vhaal'krin, his hand batting away the others' as it fusses against his bloody lip. while the fragrance of his blood was tempting, the others' welfare was of more concern. vexed as he is. “ well, obviously it would have, there's a stone in the middle. you're only supposed to eat the flesh, ” it was easy to forget how naïve he could be to the ways of the surface world. it's astarion's turn to huff now. his thumb touches the drow's chin, underneath his lip, “ enough of that. show me where it hurts. ”

Vhaal'krin's fingers curl inwards, retreating after being swatted at with a groan of displeasure. "What kind of fruit has a stone in the middle?" It sounds like some kind of trap—something sweet with a hard, teeth-breaking core—and it frustrates him deeply how needlessly complicated things are in this wretched place. His lips part to protest again—but the subtle gesture of affection seems to give him pause, if only briefly. The pout remains, but his expression visibly softens before he opens his mouth, flashing Astarion his small fangs. There's nothing broken or chipped, thankfully—just soreness left from the hard bite; despite how much he enjoys bringing pain to others, it's no fun if he's the one on the receiving end.

there's the unhinged urge to shear off the strand he tugged at, just to be petty. if only she wasn't so attached to her hair. she also has the sneaking suspicion that it would only make him laugh, and his joy isn't something particularly high on her list of priorities. and so she settles for glaring, flicking her braid over her shoulder out of his reach. " what do you want, you demon? " there's also the urge to kick him in the shins—again— but she'll wait and see what he has to say.

It's almost as if he's hanging off her shoulder expectantly, his wet red eyes watching her so intently they might as well be memorizing the way her face looks from this angle. The soft wisps of his hair brush against her shoulder as Vhaal'krin leans closer, chin resting against the bump of her shoulder, white cascading down her arm as the drow invades her personal space so brazenly, carelessly, like a wild animal seeking affection, a seed of curiosity blossoming in him. "...What are you doing?" the question feels too banal to justify his insistent, attention seeking behavior, so he adds: "You haven't played with me in awhile..." carefully placing the fault for his misbehavior on her shoulder before tilting his head, letting the apple of his cheek squish against the bump of her shoulder. "I'm bored."
