Watch them burn
pyrolysiis:
It was hard to be appreciative of the constant missions and activity his âbossâ put him and his coworkers through because of how much trouble the guy was. But with boredom overtaking him and overriding his system, he kinda missed those days ⌠in a way. Dabi had a mission, a goal that he couldnât quite fulfill here.
After all, the city looked like it was devoid of villains.
â What a waste, â he muttered, walking down the street and ignoring the looks from passers-by. He got that a lot. What was new?
â Well, thatâs new. â Head perked up at the sensation of being watched â followed even. A crazed stalker? A curious stranger? Or finally, a hero? All possible outcomes, though none appealing in the slightest.
He walked around the city some more, taking populated routes before entering an alley. The typical hideout for neâer-do-wells like him and the safest place to burn someone down without getting caught right away.
â You gonna show yourself or am I gonna have to smoke you out? â
Lena gave a smirk to the mans words, so she had been noticed, but for how long had he known? No Lena knew exactly the answer to that, when two powerful forces are in an area there isnât a chance they would miss each other. Though Lena had never bothered to hide, all this time she had simply been in plain sight, this man must have been used to things like this perhaps? Or maybe it was just a luck guess and her magic screwed up. It was not uncommon for a spell to go haywire once in a blue moon and sensory magic was not among her specialties, though for being human Lena had to admit it was a bit impressive. This human seemed to have some bark, but did they have the bite to follow? Oh but a fight in such an area would lead to damage, among which lena had a chance of having to fix.
âAh.â Lena said her eyes taking a shade of light red as she stepped a bit further into the alley, âMy apologies, i was not hiding, and i do apologize for following you without permission, iâm simply...a bit shy.â Lena gave a warm forced smile to the male as she stood looking upon him, âThough what did you mean by smoke me out? Yo-You were not thinking of bring harm to me right?â Lena gave a slight step back her eyes fluttering to the wall as the scarf around her neck covered her mouth slightly, her attempts to look human may have been going wrong though she could only hope she was being convincing enough. âI saw you awhile ago, i assumed you were hurt, though you appear to be in good health. My worries were for naught then, i am glad.â
Though Lena said this her body remained in itâs position, she felt not a hint of fear, no her own mother was much more frightful that a human with what appeared to be scorched skin. Perhaps a there was something in that bit of detail that Lena could take from, and if her assumption was correct then if the two were to fight it would literally be fighting fire with fire, an event bound to drive spirits away. No that wonât do, best not to push boundaries where she could save lives as well as the energy of the adorable spirits, though the man seemed not as inclined to peace as Lena herself had been. All assumptions though, unlike the man Lena let no hint of her powers slip out, the only thing that could slip through to an enemy was the theme of red which was included in most things she wore, a fire burning great, bright, and powerful so much that she tends to burn those who are close. Even now Lena remains to be reckless perhaps falling back was the best option at the time, yet driven by curiosity of humans of other worlds she could not bring herself to move just yet.
