Was the DWR nationalized in 1948?

No! Due to a contract left over from the London North Western Railway, the DWR managed to keep hold of independence. BR didn't make it easy for them though. In 1968 the DWR was in a pretty run-down and dilapidated state, it did however manage to outlast British Rail and survive into the modern day.

Hi! This is a fictional railway I'm developing as both a writing/worldbuilding exercise and as a physical model railway I'm planning to build in OO gauge. @hazel-of-sodor has been helping me with designing engines and she was actually the one who came up with the numbering system the railway uses. I might make a post explaining that in the future :D

This might end up on some or all of the coaches for the DWR, I haven't gotten around to designing them yet!
