Many thanks for everyone's support on the comic, it truly warms my heart and I'm glad it can touch some people--amazing to see how many of us it connects as well, as it was arguably a way for me to also reach out, given what I'm going through. Anyway, I wanted to share two warmer and more fun HCs I have for Ken and Karen in their younger years! I really like how kind Henrietta is to Karen in the Casa Bonita DLC of TFBW, and like to imagine that they will remain friends and that Karen will have a goth phase in her teens.

Secondly, I LOVE to think that Mysterion will have a huge impact on Karen (even well into her adult life), and that she at some point will try to join him as a side-kick, hehe.

Hair dye friends:

Henrietta:

✦ Dyes her entire head with supermarket box dye every six weeks so that shit’s never coming out.

✦ Hates her blonde roots and likes to stay on top of them.

✦ Picks up a box for Pete and he reimburses her. He returns the labor by giving her a haircut (he knows how she likes her layers).

✦ She does Pete’s hair at the same time as hers and they chat about life (and death).

✦ Doesn't really care about her clothes getting dirty but will wear plastic gloves because Pete's red stains the skin.

Pete: ✦ Doesn’t need to bleach, his hair is light enough to take the red.

✦ Roots aren’t really noticeable at first so they don't really bother him.

✦ Uses Manic Panic’s “Vampire Red.” The name never used to bother him but now that secret can never leave this room. Buys it himself and brings it to Henrietta.

✦ Cuts his hair himself. Very particular about his bangs.

✦ Wears a T-shirt he doesn't care about + a towel for caution.
