Today's outfit is for comfort and chores. I had to take Stella to the vet today. It's always rough taking our little rescue pup to the vet because she's pretty shy. It usually ends with her peeing on the vet techs. Few people get to see her super sweet and snuggly side. She's got a personality of a fiery old lady who enjoys her alone time, but likes to get out every once and a while to snicker with her close friends. 😂

It's day 7 of wardrobe documenting and grace has been on my mind. Grace became more apparent when I was in art school. I always stressed over perfection, but soon learned to give myself grace. My capsule wardrobe isn't perfect. I haven't limited myself to x amount of items. I started by emptying my closet and putting back my favorites. I got rid of a lot but I still have over 50 items. It's the little successes along the way like being able to see the back wall of my closet or having a drawer that isn't packed to the brim. We don't have to get it perfect and we shouldn't be afraid of failure.

It is a rainy Friday here in Athens. I work in a fairly casual office where my colleagues can be found wearing functional hiking clothing like a Columbia PFG shirt. I often wear functional functional shoes such as my Tevas because they are waterproof, comfortable and cute.

So one of my best friends, Abigail, is getting married. Like any bride she is trying to get fit for the wedding. Our relationship goes back to middle school. We both went to UGA in undergrad, but since graduation she moved to Atlanta.

When she lived in Athens we worked out frequently with walks, runs or yoga. As a way to find opportunity to spend time together at a distance, we’re trying to workout together remotely. What is the hardest part of working out?

Getting started.

So to make it more fun we started out todays workout by walking for 15 minutes while catching up on life over the phone. Then we did the above workout together over facetime. Yeah facetime can get weird, but it’s more fun than trying to do the above workout alone.

I used to go to a workout class that created 3x3 workouts. I enjoyed it so much that I started creating my own. In addition, the above workout begins and ends with the 3 minute cardio in green. The goal is to repeat the exercises as many times as you can in 3 minutes. Then we moved into 3 blocks. Each block is repeated 3 times.

There were laughs, tears and singing. Definitely doing this every Thursday afternoon.

Almost everything in this outfit was a Christmas gift (all except my jeans). The turtleneck came from my mom and it is the prettiest blue.

Stella definitely wants to be a part of this.

New years comes with countless posts about the “new year, new me”, but one friend’s post inspired me to really take time to reflect on what I want out of 2019. My goals of 2019 are gratitude, contentment and refinement. To strengthen my relationship with my Lord through gratitude, to become content in what I have and pay attention to my needs instead of wants and through both of those experience refinement as I edit my materials and decisions. Wednesday marked the beginning of my journey of editing my clothes through developing a capsule wardrobe. For the next two weeks, I will be posting daily pictures of my outfits to reveal what I wear most and establish a winter color scheme. This approach was inspired by Caroline Joy’s blog Unfancy.

And yes, the photo to the right is terrible. I’ll need to refine my blogging skills.
