Hi. Mid camp. Mind if I vent? ITS BEEN AWFUL HERE
It’s soaking wet and all of us are miserable, my group failed at pitching a tent and the inside has completely flooded. All of our clothes and bags are soaking wet and we’re huddling under a tiny shelter which we had to pitch a tent under. We had unanimously decided that we’ll be picked up tomorrow instead of Sunday because all of us are having an awful time.
We spent the entire four hours here so far trying to get the tents up because the guiders won’t let us do anything else until they’re up. They didn’t even feed us any dinner and it’s 10pm, we had to scrounge for granola bars and Doritos ourselves because the Guiders would not set up the hot plate.
Guider Courtney has been constantly yelling when we ask questions like doesn’t she know that she’s not the only one having a bad time. She also had a meltdown as a grown ass adult and the other guider had to comfort her, so me, Ryan, and Bri had to set up THEIR tent by ourselves in the pouring rain, and then drag all of their stuff including a huge heavy mattress like half a kilometer.
Guider Heather sent us on a backpacking tent camping trip during a weekend we knew it was going to rain very hard and then didn’t even come and left us with the meanest Guider
I forgot my rain jacket at home so all I had was a hoodie and poncho and even with it the hoodie got completely soaked through. I am not having a good time tonight.
they sound like you should complain to a higher authority about that. Them not letting you eat if needed is a literal crime. Not to mention the unprofessionalisim.
