On Thursday, October 8th, from 7:30-11pm, Depth Of Field Magazine is proud to present an exhibit of original pieces by Chali 2na (vocalist of Jurassic 5, photographer / illustrator), Eric Orr (creator of Max Robot, celebrated designer / graffiti artist), and Ronald Wimberly (Designer /Cartoonist) at the iconic Lower East Side venue Max Fish. All three exhibiting artists will be in attendance at New York Comic Conearlier that day, participating in Depth Of Field Magazine’s “Hip-Hop & Comics: Cultures Combining” program and interacting one-on-one with fans and fellow creators – and once the sun sets, they’ll make their way to the LES for a once-in-a-lifetime joint show that brings together their unique graphic perspectives and showcases their common roots in Hip-Hop culture. Music for the event will be provided by DJ Patrick A. Reed, minusbaby, and other special guests, and admission is free and open the public, with 21+ legal ID required for admittance. Select pieces on display will be available for purchase. Max Fish is located at 120 Orchard Street in NYC, two short blocks from the Delancey/Essex stop on the F/J/M/Z trains.

Yes, this is a super exciting, super wonderful day. Yes, we're celebrating, and rightfully so.

But let's remember that women and people of color have had the right to marry for many years, and are still treated as second-class citizens. Equality for all is still a long ways off, and there's so much work yet to be done.

Let's take this week's victories and revel in them. And then let's take this momentum, and this excitement, and this energy, and use it to keep ourselves pushing forward.

And tonight, let's raise a glass, and know we're in a better place than we were yesterday.
