.. I know I just requested, but would it be selfish of me to request more Palmer fluff? Like things they do directly after a race or when they go camping/to the beach and the like? If not that’s totally fine! Maruzensky is on the back burner as a separate x reader on the list if that’s also okay! (There isn’t a whole lot of x reader stuff I’ve found on tumblr for my favorite umas, you’re doing amazing!)
Absolutely not selfish~! I decided to make the blog because I couldn’t find as much stuff as I wanted, too, so I’m happy to be contributing!
The adrenaline of the race always gets to her head — her first instinct is to look for you, and show you the biggest smile she can muster! It doesn’t matter if she’s completely wet or covered in dirt; she just wants to share that moment with you.
You might need to let her know you don’t want any hugs if you’re not a fan of sweat, though. We all know Palmer isn’t exactly shy about being affectionate, after all~
In fact, a lot of your relationship with Palmer is centered around sharing.
It was easy for her to feel isolated growing up, but she’s never felt like this around you, so it’s only natural that she would want to experience a bunch of stuff with you.
On days you want to go out of your comfort zone, Palmer will chose what to do! She’s pretty good at knowing what is and isn’t okay, so she can back you up whenever. And if there’s something you want to check out, but you’re too anxious to do it alone, just ask her about it! She’ll come with!
On other days, you tend to have more lowkey dates. Cuddles are her faves, so if you’re fine with that, you’re going to be stuck with a super clingy Umamusume. Get ready!
Once you two decided to try and mix your own drinks, ‘cause Palmer had already made her blend once for you and you’d thought it was neat.
(The judge was a very excited Helios, who was just so eager to taste try everything you made that she almost choked on her drink. That was scary.
You ended up deciding to take things slow and just enjoy your afternoon together — though Palmer was very focused on you. She wanted to know if you had enjoyed what she came up with for you!)
This one’s a classic, but it’s a goldie: Palmer likes lending you her jacket. She’d put it on your shoulders and kiss you on the cheek, saying it’s a good look on you. The worst is that she’s probably doesn’t even need to try to be flirtatious, she just is…!
(How’re you supposed to compete with that?!)
You sometimes have your special “running away” days. Well, that’s how Palmer jokingly calls them, but it’s just a fancy way of saying you’re taking a day off… (You were a bit worried at first, since you knew Palmer felt like she always had to avoid everything. When you told her about it, she just smiled and said, “Don’t worry. I don’t feel so scared when I’m with you!”)
For you guys, running away just means taking the train in one direction and just… seeing where that takes you. Sometimes you take your camping gear, sometimes you take some money with you to stay overnight, but most of the time, it’s just for a day; you do have other stuff to do after all…
But when you don’t? Oh, you guys really make the most out of it. Take some card games, tasty snacks and go live it up in the woods! Palmer’s a good camping buddy, so you don’t have to worry about a thing — just seeing your happy face is enough, yeah?
Palmer got into the habit of waking you up early in the morning so you can watch the sunset together. If you’re not much of an early bird, how about leaning on her shoulder? (Not to brag, but Bright always said she was nice to sleep on. Mind confirming that?)
Will hype you up with outdated slang. “Don’t worry, you’re da bomb!” and others “you’re a cool kid, they’ll like you.” Whether it works or makes you cringe depends on the kind of person you are, but you can’t deny she cares!
Okay, on a more serious note, Maruzensky is just a bit more firm in making sure you step out of your comfort zone than Palmer does. She likes you, and she’s sure that other people will like you too, if you give it a chance. So, she decides to introduce you to her friends, and to others she thinks you’d get along with.
(That’s how you probably end up hanging out with Sakura Chiyono O, Special Week, Rice Shower and / or Winning Ticket more often, but that’s a story for another day.)
Maruzensky’s been living on her own for a while, so she’s bound to be a bit more independent than most students at Tracen — maybe that’s where her dedication to pushing you out of your comfort zone comes from.
Being an adult can be seriously tough, especially if you’re not good at telling people off. Maruzensky also had an adjustment period, you know? At some point when you grow up, you start to have way more responsibilities, and things won’t get done if you just ignore them.
Well, that sounds a little scary when she puts it like that, but Maruzensky is nothing if not helpful: she’ll teach you lots of things and show you how it’s done, so how ‘bout you two take off? It’ll be fun, she promises!
Yep, Maruzensky’s big-sisterly vibes apply even to your relationship. It’s not because she thinks you’re incapable of figuring it out on your own, she just can’t help but want to dote on the people she loves… you especially!
A little bit of favoritism can’t hurt, right?
Speaking of, you get extra privileges in her precious Tata. The front seat’s always reserved for you, she keeps your favorite snacks and drinks, and you’re even allowed to chose what you guys listen to!
Doesn’t matter how niche or unique your recommendations are — Maruzensky’s stoked to know what her precious partner enjoys. She’s pretty much bond to love it just based on that.
Hugs, hugs, hugs. You can’t count how many times she takes you in her arms just because she felt like it, because it’s a lot! Her favorite are back hugs, so if you’re the reactive type, Maruzensky will do her best to warn you beforehand! (She is strong, but not to the point of taking multiple elbow jabs to the stomach. Love ya though!)
Honestly, she really likes playing with your hands too. Whenever you get some downtime, Maruzensky reaches for your hands and have some fun with it. Comparing their size to hers, checking out your nails (painted or not)… or warming them up by interlacing your fingers together. ♪
Her phone is, like, full of pictures of you doing anything and everything. You look cute all the time, how could she hold back?
Maruzensky’s the kind of partner that’ll take any opportunity to talk about you. Anyone showing interest in her pics? Prepare for a very long gushing session where she’ll insist on showing every picture she’s ever taken of you, when she did it, why she loves it so much, so on and so forth.
(Rudolf and Tazuna are often on the receiving end of this, but that doesn’t mean everyone else is safe.)
