Are you sure you're not overlooking the fact that Fiore DeRosa was the commanding officer? Artemia was too feral to ever report him; Mephilia was too lost in her own despair; and Einheria, while she may have had a private distaste for what was occurring, was too bound by her honour and duty to the ideals of the Duchy to go against him. Also; I feel like we need Endark here on this, offering his own two cents.

Let’s be real, though, even if you assume the kidnapping and murdering women thing was just a hobby, there’s the fact that their plan to undermine crystalism in florem involved driving everyone to violent madness with fashion made by murdering sacred animals. And then there’s Alchemist murdering a bunch of his own dudes and getting away with it pretty much unpunished. To say nothing of Black Mage setting civilians on fire and Knight murdering the captain of the Caldislan royal guard for no real reason.

what I’m getting at is that maybe they should have started trying to make the villains seem like maybe they aren’t all cartoonishly evil a little bit sooner because so many of them were cartoonishly evil at this point that the attempt kinda falls flat.

Fiore, Qada, and Profiteur are probably the three biggest scumbags of the lot, considering their motivations, though they do get the jobs done (plus, most of the scummiest bits were kept under wraps from those higher in charge).  Perhaps the Black Mage and Knight were too willing to cause damage to civilians and their own people, but considering that their losses led to Agnes and the party systematically ruining all of the other Legions, their fervor is at least somewhat excusable.

I’d try to defend these guys more, but really, A-M should just keep playing and wait to see just what the Eternian Central Command thinks is far more dangerous than having a couple of psychopaths on their payroll.  After all, they wouldn’t wreck the Orthodoxy and cause the seas and winds to die just because they’re “black as pitch” and Agnes is “white as snow”, right?  This is a Square Enix game, you know; things are never that simple.

what I’m getting at is that hey, maybe instead of hirin’ a bunch of looneys, you could

talk to the crystalists and if this is really a big deal they might be willing to

help you defeat the ancient evil that you’ve accidentally unleashed and can somehow only be pacified by destroying crystals (because, let’s face it, that’s what the plot is prolly gonna end up being)

Announcement!

So! I want to start by saying that working with the readingverse has been a fun and educational first impression of tumblr! DM Bonbon’s early adventures with all the other blogs are still some of the most fun I’ve had in the mlp fan community!

But as the ‘verse has grown and evolved we have undergone a lot of changes both in the way we handle our blogs and in the type of stories being told in our version of Ponyville. And unfortunately it has become impossible to tell Bonbon’s story the way I’d like.

So from now on there will be much less interaction between Bonbon’s blog and the readingverse. Her story should now be considered independent of theirs.

I would like to thank rainbow-dash-reads-homestuck's author for allowing me to play around in his universe for a while.

I would list all the other blogs that I’d like to thank for all the adventures we’ve had together, but that would quickly turn this into a wall of text! You’ve all been great, and taught me so much about writing and art and blogging in general!

Now for everyone still sticking around I’ll have a separate post telling you what you can expect from the continuing adventures of Bonbon and friends!

Now, as to how this affects the reading rainbowverse. Short answer? it doesn’t, really. Long answer - Bonbon’s adventure was concluded offscreen. Gilda went back to being a grumpy loner, Spike went back to being Twilight’s assistant and Bonbon and friends went back to being a bunch of nerds playing DnD. they fall out of relevance within the ‘verse, everything calms down, and no one really talks about it again because they all kind of prefer it that way. So if Spike shows up on this blog or Gilda stops acknowledging the stuff that goes on on Bonbon’s blog, that’s why, please don’t send us a billion asks about it.))
