that time has come again; for a milestone bias list. i’ve had amelia for a little over a year, & in that time, i’ve gotten to met some incredible people, forging some relationships i could never hope to describe – relationships i will treasure forever. i have had the opportunity to write with some amazing & talented people, to laugh & to cry with many of you both in & out of character. when i first started around here, the indie scene for grey’s was just a tiny thing; only, like, four of us active at any given time. since then, i have gotten to see it blossom, & while we’re still a rather small, tight community, everyone here is so friendly, so wonderful. i am forever grateful for each & every one of you, whether i named you on here or not. for my friends in other fandoms, i love you guys just as much. our crossovers & aus give me life.

i have said it before & i will say it again; writing amelia has meant so much to me. she provides me a creative outlet, a place to channel my energy, from inspiration to devastation. she has gotten me through some really hard times. she reminds me every day that strength comes from pain, & that no matter how many challenges might be thrown my way, i can get through them, as long as i never give up.

                    there’s a thickness in the air that’s threatening to suffocate the former bella as she waits anxiously outside of the bedroom door. it isn’t until she hears the door to the bathroom open that she goes in further. dangling from the shower head, on a silver chain, is a diamond ring. and as soon as adeline finds it she’s going to ask her to spend her life with her. no big deal. she can already feel sweat beading up on the back of her neck in nothing but nervous anticipation. she’s 99% sure the blonde is going to say yes but there’s always that possibility that she won’t. there’s always a shade of doubt in the back of her mind.

                    it’s the simplest of gestures–nothing flashy or too fancy; but beca definitely isn’t flashy and she honestly doesn’t think adeline will want something over the top either. just the two of them in their home with no one’s company but each other seems like the most inviting route. but she’ll be damned if her heart isn’t racing like she just ran a mile, or if her palms aren’t sweating as she nervously rings her hands together. she’s taken to quietly peeking into the restroom, catching glimpses of adeline getting undressed while she tries to catch the exact moment she finds it. this is a memory she wants to keep for as long as she’s living.

                    she might as well be hypnotized by the blonde’s face, every single twitch and expression. she’s entranced as she watches her listen to her mixes. however all good things come to an end, or so they say, and before she knows it the older woman has taken the headphones off and handed them back. deep blue eyes watch her even as she stands, her focus only pulled back to reality when full lips part and she speaks.

                    beca’s expression shifts from mystified to casual and she attempts to appear unimpressed.

                    & that’s all she manages to say. she wants to fire back at her, tell her she can’t be all that important, or just tell her anything at all; but in true beca fashion, at least in front of this particular human being, she comes up speechless.
