The End of Summer Ball

It is that time of year again ! The crown and its staff are preparing Florian Castle to host a highly anticipated event. Summer is waning, and it is nearly time to say hello to a fresh fall breeze, but most Auradon citizens know we cannot say goodbye to summer without throwing The End of Summer Ball ! This yearly event is always hosted by the crown as a thank you to the citizens who help make Auradon such a wonderful place to live. This year, it will also be an event to foster connections between the new arrivals in Auradon and our born citizens. Food and drink will be in abundance, along with a variety of elegant music, and the mandatory last dance of summer is sure to create some charming pairings. King Ben is looking forward to inviting everyone into his home, and he is planning a surprise for one lucky guest. Be sure to arrive in your best attire and have a great time !

OOC:

This End of Summer Ball is hosted by the crown every year, so Auradon born citizens will already be anticipating the event. It is one of the best networking opportunities for citizens since everyone is invited, but this year will definitely be a shake up. It will be the first time that VKs will be in attendance and the first time King Ben will be in charge of hosting instead of his father. There are going to be whispers of citizens refusing to attend in protest of the new proclamation, but most people will be unable to resist their own curious nature when they hear King Ben has planned a surprise for one lucky guest. This surprise is going to be purely a luck of the draw, so anyone is eligible to win as long as they are in attendance. Lastly, at the end of the ball, there is going to be a mandatory dance, called the last dance of summer, which everyone will be required to participate in. If your muse does not come with a date, they will be assigned a dance partner at random. Pairings will be announced after the event has started, so you have time to plot out a date in advance before getting a random assignment.

DURATION:

This event will start Aug 15th and end on Sept 5th. This can be subject to change if the group feels they want more or less time to participate in the event.

In character, the ball will only last an evening.

The pairings for the last dance will be announced on Aug 22nd.

Ben's surprise will be announced on Aug 29th.

Reporting from Auradon News...

We were left in shock early this morning when a note from an unknown figured darkened our doorsteps. Instead of it being left at the castle’s door, the one we once thought was just a prankster, has now left their cryptic note directly at Auradon News' front door. Have they chosen to do this since the crown has failed to make comments on their prior statements? Nonetheless, our chief of staff discovered the note upon our opening, and it has left all of our staff with deep concerns. This reporter, and Auradon News, say we are ready to listen and urge this mysterious figure to reveal themselves so that we may have peaceful discussions. In the meantime, beloved citizens, stay safe, and if you have any clues as to who is behind this, don’t be afraid to come forward!

A note was left for Auaradon News this Sunday morning, and after experiencing the terrors of the Blood Tide, they are understandably concerned. Citizens are starting to become suspicious of the crown, but that is still outweighed by their fear of what this mysterious figure is going to do next. The crown has an active investigation going on to get to the bottom of these troubling events, but so far, they have turned up nothing. Citizens may be doing their own research, but with no clues beyond these cryptic notes to go off of, fear and tension are growing in Auradon.
