Harry grins, wide and easy, and begins heading out towards the chip shoppe.
“I don’t mind at'all, love.” He stretches again, back popping this time. The way he relaxed afterwards says it was a good thing.
She hears the pop causing her to smile a bit. Simple things were always the best ones.
“So I’m thinking about making a larger portion, that way the other people on the crew can at least get a taste if they like.”

“A’ course. Anybody in tha crew’s allowed ta, if they wanna. If somebody wants ta make food why would we stop ‘em?” Harry grinned, patting the rope and stretching his arms above his head. He then shoves the rope onto the floor and picks up his hook again, humming.
“Want me ta lead tha way?”
Catherine was starting to like the idea of this more and more. Perhaps she could also help out who ever the cook was on the crew, at the very least she’d be helpful around her, with Harry teaching her the small things and her already made skill set.
“Yes if you don’t mind.”

“I’m open to the idea, yes.” Uma responded. “What do you have to offer the crew?”

Catherine nodded. For the most part she just hung around the shop watching others come and go and observing those she knew were part of Uma’s crew.
“Do you need a second set of hands?” Cath hadn’t even thought about asking to basically help the other. Something her mother always hated her doing but with Uma it would be fair as she was now a part of the crew, she’d help out if needed.
Uma shook her head. “No, thank you, I’m okay.” She tried her hardest not to ask the crew to help her around the shop unless she absolutely, desperately needed the help. “I shouldn’t be long.” She was already starting to wash the dishes in the near scalding water.
Cath simply nodded before waiting. It was always strange to do nothing for her, she almost always felt the need to move about so while she waited she walked around the shop looking at the small things like difference in the furniture as well as the makeshift stage.

Catherine nodded a moment. While in theory she could head home and try to stall the inevitable with the cards coming to find out where she was spending her time they likely had already found her and reported back to her mother of her comings and goings. It was better to rip it off like a bandaid and stay put.
“Alright.”
Uma nodded. “Okay then.” She said, and got back to doing the rest of the tasks that needed to get done in the shop. The other girl was welcome to hang around as long as there were patrons in the shop (and then maybe even after, if it came down to it). She served the last few patrons and cleaned the floors, and the tables as people left. “I just have to do the dishes and then I should be good to leave.” She said over her shoulder to Catherine.

“Alright…. when do you have the time to go, I don’t want to pull from any duties you have right now.” Catherine could understand that it might take a bit for the other to have the free time to come with her to get her things from her mother’s home.
“Well, I’m still on shift for a while yet, so it could be a long time before I’m able to get away.” Uma told her. “If you need somewhere safe to sleep for the night, my ship is open to you.” It was open to any child or teenager who needed it, whenever they needed it.
Catherine nodded a moment. Uma nodded. She was a little leery about going to the Queen of Hearts’ place, but Catherine had asked her if she’d come, and she didn’t want to leave her new crew member by herself to deal with that. “I’m always prepared.” She didn’t say this in a braggy way.
“Alright.... when do you have the time to go, I don’t want to pull from any duties you have right now.” Catherine could understand that it might take a bit for the other to have the free time to come with her to get her things from her mother’s home.

“I’d like that.” She spoke after a moment wondering what to make. Of course it would depend on what she could get her hands on as well as what the ingredients were like in the first place… then there was the matter of where she could cook.
Uma nodded. “Well, okay then, I will.” She wasn’t sure what to mak of the girl in front of her, whether to try and befriend her or keep her distance. Given that she was in the crew now, she supposed trying to make friends with her would be the best course of action.
“My mother..... still likes to act as if she’s in wonderland so I’d say be pared for that when you show up.” Cath spoke as she still thought of what to cook. Perhaps when she went back to her home she’d take a few things she had stocked up.

“’M a fan a’ anythin’ edible.” Harry shrugged. “But we tend ta have a lotta fish an’ a lotta clams.” He tugs more of the rope close, moving a little faster because he was getting bored. “We also have plenty a’ slop an’ I’m sure Cook won’t mind lettin’ ya inta tha Chip Shoppe’s kitchens if ya wanna look at ‘em yerself.”
Fish and clams were pretty easy to work with. She learned because it was one of the few things on the Isle you could get decently fresh. Now it would depend on other things she could get her hands on and if she could work in the Chip shop she’d at least have a decent place to work. She worked faster on the ropes too looking forward to actually cooking something the others might like. She got to cook a lot and eat her own food, but having other people taste it would be new.
Harry ran his hand along the rope, pulling it so there was only a bit of slack between them.
“Ya looking forward ta seein’ tha kitchen?”
“Yes actually, I’ll be able to use it often?” She asked. A place where she could do her baking and cooking and wouldn’t be judged or yelled at for it. She helped finishing the last bit of rope.

“Mother holds no power here and if she were to take your head, she would have one servant less.”

“I’d like to at leas make you something small… besides when I go home to get a few things I’ll likely need someone to come with me anyways.” Dealing with her mother on her own was likely to be a mess she didn’t want to have to witness. It was safer to have someone with her.
Uma smiled. “Well, in that case, I’m not going to stop you.” She said. And she’d come with her if that was what Catherine wanted. She knew that most parents on the Isle were…not great to their kids at best, and awful to them at worst. Her own mother fell into the latter category, and she suspected Catherine’s did as well. “If you want me to, I’ll come with you.”
“I’d like that.” She spoke after a moment wondering what to make. Of course it would depend on what she could get her hands on as well as what the ingredients were like in the first place… then there was the matter of where she could cook.

“Why else would I ask?”
“Why wouldn’t you want to go alone? What is the worst she can do? Scream?”, Helena asked, her she rolled her eyes.

Harry grinned, and nodded. “I wouldn’t mind tha’ at'all. I jus’ needed ta check tha rope, tha sails can keep as they are, an’ there’s no need ta clean tha decks er anything. Yeah?” He pulls a bit more rope into his lap to continue checking it, humming softly. “Whaddya plan on makin’?”
“Depends what I can get my hands on to use to cook with.” She stated simplet as she continued her way down the rope making sure that there wasn’t anything to b worried about.

“No, no duel required.” She spoke a smirk on her own lips before listening to the other eyes shifting down a moment. She knew not everyone on the Isle had someone looking after them. Yes her mother was a piece of work but in her own way she did care, I mean she was a Princess of the country of hearts and if they ever got out her mother would have used that.
“I’m sure lots of people are doing better thanks to you…. how about I cook you up something as a way to….” She didn’t want to say the word thanks, it was ingained on her a Princess never had to, she was given respect and what she wanted but it didn’t feel right to just take and take in this situation.
Uma chuckled. “Good because, no offense, but I’m pretty sure that if we dueled, you’d lose.” She said, but went serious afterwards. It wasn’t often she disclosed the real reason why she had started the crew in the first place. Only to the crew themselves, in fact. Everyone else was in the dark. “I like to think that they are.” She agreed. She couldn’t make the girl say thank you if she wasn’t comfortable. “And you don’t have to cook me anything. I mean, if you want to, you can, but it’s not mandatory.”

“No. Wait.”, Helena said, letting out a sigh as she began following her sister. “You cannot say something like that and then not explain any further.”
“I don’t even know why I asked I just.... I didn’t want to go alone.” She spoke with a frustrated sigh.

“I’m sure, I only thought I might have to fight you on actually being on the crew.. it almost felt to easy you know.” She spoke after a moment. Cath wanted off this Isle, wanted away from her mother, this was her one chance.
“I want to be on your crew.” She spoke eyes watching the other.
“I mean, hey, if you want me to duel you, I will.” Uma said with a slight smirk tilting the corner of her mouth up. But then she went serious. “The reason I started this crew in the first place, is because we all have one thing in common, I’ve noticed. The people who are supposed to take care of us…don’t.” She admitted, tone softening. “Whether they’re neglectful, abusive….you get the picture.”
She looked at her. “If someone needs a safe place to come, they come here. That’s why I never turn away someone who wants to join my crew.”
