Many of you have wonderful children either in your lives or will have in the future. When the gender is known, stereotypical colours seem to stick... Blue for a boy and pink for a girl. However there is much more to choose from when decorating rooms, opting for a theme and selecting something that will have an impact and influence your mini-me's from an early age.

First of all...

...start with a blank canvas. A white or off white wall is like a blank canvas. You can easily touch it up when it has been scuffed and, it is easy to change further down the line when your children age. It is fresh and appealing to the eye, bright and uplifting.  From here you can add colour, textures, patterns, themes and a feature wall if you desire.

1. You can choose to compliment with the ever popular grey minimal and classy. This suits a little boys room so much. You have a lot of options with this look. Animals, stars, shapes and geometrics all work well with greys and whites. You can soften windows with roman blinds, curtains and voiles in plains and or patterns. Minimal looks can be achieved, by just adding wooden elements or lights, for example.

2. You can add a splash of colour. By selecting one colour to go with the white it breaks it up. You can generalize with the sex of the child or just pick one of your favourite colours.

3. You can add a theme. Hearts. Princesses. The sea. Cars. Here you can really play around with your Child's favourite thing

4. Add lots of colour and textures in various ways. Cushions are a cheap way to accessories and can add the splash of colour you require. And they can be updated as and when you fancy a change! As can bespoke extras like pom poms, trims, bags, and bunting, All reasonably priced and very effective.
