Heart Breaker by Karen Robards

Personally I liked the book, its genuinely a good book but there were some aspects that I found a little uncommon among a lot of the books I read.

It was definitely a slow burner in the beginning (which for me isn't that bad) but if you're more of a fan of action from the get-go this book might not be for you.

It started off seeming like your typical mystery murder romance book but somehow veered off into a end of the world category which I found very intriguing and unexpected.

The character development also exceeded my expectations as the book progressed with the people most unlikely to be my favorite, I found rooting for.

Overall, I quite enjoyed the book but sadly it wasn't a page turned that I would stay up late into the night reading but still, a enjoyable read.

Summary

When Sean O'Brien stops to help a woman walking on a back road through a national forest late at night, the unscheduled stop leads to a past he never knew existed. Review

Upon initial picking up of this book I had no doubt it would hold some religious aspects due to the nature of the title. I was pleasantly surprised when within the first 5 chapters I had already gotten murder, attempted sexual assault, heroism, etc (basically a lot of action in just 5 short chapters). Continuing on through the book there were so many twists and turns that at times I couldn't put it down and was up till 2 am trying to find a good stopping point. Another nice surprise was when the book not only contained religious aspects but also political ones and gave a slight look into how dark a political scandal can become. Last but not least, call me sappy but I love a book with a happy ending and that is the last thing I expected to get when picking up this book so if you hate books with a ending that makes you want to throw it then this is for you. Overall it was a decent book and Id defiantly recommend it to my friends and family as easily making one of my top 10 favorites.
