Braun UKW 1 Kitchen scale Designed in 1983 by Hartwig Kahlcke, under head of design Dieter rams. Hartwig’s most famous design was the Braun KMM 20 coffee grinder. The kitchen scale exhibits its weight through the red needle which rotates around the circumference of the scale. The clear Perspex cylinder rotates itself to adjust for the eight of a bowl or to change from kg to Pounds and Ounces. The scale also comes with a plastic bowl which perfectly slots on top and over the scale to protect the clear Perspex form being scratched. Braun Electric Lighter (or in Germany the Mach 2 Slim) Pocket Lighter designed by the Hans Gugelot Institute in 1972 Hans Gugelot, who had died in 1965, was a lecturer at the Ulm School of Design (having been appointed by Max Bill in 1954) and a key figure in the collaboration between the school and Braun. He co-designed two milestone Braun pieces - the SK 4 record player with Dieter Rams in 1956 and the Sixtant shave with Gerd Alfred Mueller in 1961. He was regarded by Erwin Braun as "the actual creator of Braun Design" with Otl Aicher. This piece looks to be unused and in mint condition with box and all internal paperwork.
