Christmas was coming. It was in a few weeks and this year she wanted to give out meaningful gifts so that even if she was no longer in this world, people would be reminded of her. She was never able to do anything for her little brother, so at the very least she could have done something special for the people around her. It wasn't very common to see her be this thoughtful, but it was probably the Christmas spirit floating around the air that easily consumed her. She wanted to try something new and her first thought was to knit a Christmas sweater; she had always wanted to when she saw older ladies doing it. Curiosity was what always killed her and it always hurt to never find the answer to it.
That day she set off to a nearby store around her home to buy the supplies to make one. She hadn't decided who would be the lucky person to receive her first knitted sweater, but whoever it would be, she was sure that they would wear it. Even if they don't want to, she would make sure that they would. At the store, she grabbed a few yarns of assorted Christmas colors and knitting needles. With her fingers wrapped around the bag, she drove back home with a warm and gleeful feeling inside her heart. She was excited to start the project, but more so wanted to the receiver's expression when they got her present.
Yeolmu knitted and knitted without even stopping to eat. She thought that she would be able to finish it in a day's worth of time. Her father told the maids to stop her and let them do it, but of course she refused. He always treats her like she was a small child who was incapable of everything. Yes, she is a rather petite lady, but he surely knew that she was capable of taking care of herself. It wouldn't mean anything if she let someone else do her work. Even if what she was doing was rather sloppy, she thought it looked just perfect. Small smiles were evidently drawn on her face as she was knitting. She continued to struggle with the knitting pattern that she bought from the store, but nevertheless continued and never gave up.
It was only two days later when she finally completed the knitted sweater. In her eyes it was the most perfect thing every, but to others it was probably the ugliest Christmas sweater that they have even seen. The length of the arms weren't even proportional, not to mention the small visible holes that anyone can see. She went through her phone contact and came across her math tutor and thought that it would fit him just perfectly. Her fingers began to type on the screen of the phone whilst a smile appeared as she thought about how it would look on him. She was sure that he would love it.
[ msg ↳규현 ] Hey, can you come over right now? I have something for you! (:

"I would rather excel others in the knowledge of what is excellent than in the extent of my powers and dominion."
The male hummed quietly as he fixed his hair, staring at the vast sea of people standing before him. With a small clearing of his throat Chase straighten his posture, tongue running across his lips before he begin his speech. “The name’s Chase. Officer Chase. I’ve sworn an oath to protect the citizens of Seoul. So please take good care of me in return, won’t you?”

Utterly confused, the artist tilted his head and rubbed the back of his neck. He was more than eager to be of any kind of civil service but two questions instantly injected his brain— why him and..
“ ..uhh..who’s them? ”
She almost wanted to smack his head upside down. Did he not see the people that were pushed down with their items severely spread out all on the floor? People must only care about themselves nowadays, although that was like herself. However, she couldn't just stand by and watch some innocent people who were in need of her hand sit down there helplessly. She gave him a disgusted stare and quickly gestured her hand to the quite obvious incident before his very eyes.
❝ Do you now see who's them? Now that I have answered your question, can we quickly help them out of their unlucky situation? ❞
The woman rolled her eyes and made her way to pick up the items securely placing them in their respective shopping bags. She sighed and helped an individual up, placing the shopping bags back into their hands. A small, yet warm smile graced her lips as she looked at the other. Her hands unknowingly reached for the other's hands and lightly tapped them as if to tell them that everything was alright. Sometimes people needed that extra boost to keep their day going even when things weren't going so well. Then, her eyes made it back to the man who had such a clueless mind and shook her head in dissatisfaction.

"A fool?" His inquiry is laced with both curiosity and uncertainty, and his gaze lingers on her features; studying her expression, the emotion in her eyes, the way she carries herself. No physical attribute leads him to the conclusion that she’s a fool, nor does her words, but it seems that she sees something that he doesn't. An eyebrow raises, and he leans forward against the table, closer to her as she sits across from him.
"You don’t seem like a fool to me, but I've never been the best at reading people. Why do you say that, though? Don’t tell me it’s something silly like you've fallen for someone you can’t have, or blaming yourself for something you couldn't have helped—"
No matter what he said, she was a fool. A fool who believed something had horribly happened to him with his sudden disappearance years ago, especially since she hadn't been so well of herself either. She held grudges for a long time and as a matter of fact, he was one of the lucky people on this planet to actually have her care for him, so it only made the matter worse. She glanced at his action and leaned forward herself, raising her hand up to put her finger on his forehead, only to push it back.
❝ It's not my fault that you never contacted me all those years when you decided to disappear. ❞
She was still angry even though they have met quite frequently after he had come back to South Korea. That was just perfectly like her, stubborn. If he had been nice enough and thought about what she would have felt about him being gone, it would have saved him a lot of trouble. She already had been through her own brother's disappearance which didn't end so well, so she was afraid to lose someone dear to her again. Jonghyun is a dear friend to her; they've been through a lot having been so close to each other for so long that it would break her heart to lose him.
❝ I'm not falling in love anytime soon, my dear friend. Trust me. Now, did you find any lovely ladies while you were gone? ❞
With that being said, she quickly muttered under her breath, "Now, who would want to date someone like him?" She snorted before taking a sip out of her coffee. Maybe it's because they've known each other for so long that he just felt like an older brother or a best friend, someone that she could easily mess around with and know that he wouldn't take it to heart. It was always fun to meet up with him and just chat about almost anything. She really didn't have any friends and he just about made it up for everything.
There is not one person in this world that is not cripplingly sad about something. You remember that before you open your mouth.

//— Pushing his thumb down on the button that was located on the handle of the umbrella, portable shelter was now covering him as he walked. The puddles that formed on the side walk splashed up at each step, making his leather shoes wet in the process. With this, the other began to avoid the larger more avoidable pools, not caring for the small ones. He was smart to watch the news everyday as a ritual, so he knew to bring an umbrella unlike half the people he saw running around in havoc to avoid being drenched from the sudden storm.
//— The sound of padding footsteps coming closer to him sensed him to turn his head ever so slightly to the right to see a young woman, who was obviously a victim of the sudden storm, dive to the protection of his umbrella.
❝I guess not. ❞
//— His tone was definitely not showing any signs of hiding how unimpressed of the situation, his lips firmly pursed together, expressionless as he continued to walk, not slowing his speed down to make it easier for the shorter other.
He left her in a state of confusion, more of a shock rather. She had not expected the other to just storm off with his umbrella and not even leaving with her time to react quickly. His action ignited her anger and she felt that she would kick his ass by the time she got to him. Stupid boy with his stupid long legs. Sometimes she wished God would have made her a bit taller just for these type of situations. If she caught up to him any sooner, he would have been flying off with his face planted in a puddle. It would have suit him right, but she decided to have a bit more class this time around.
Taking quicker steps, she made it passed him and stood right in front of him, now drenched with the rain continuing to fall down her porcelain skin. The tip of her nose was now a blush of red due to the cold water. She spread out her arm as if trying to create a barricade in front of the other, displaying no fear.
❝ YAH! Is it that hard to share your fucking umbrella? ❞
Her anger was not going to subside anytime soon and if her was going to reject her again, she really was going to take him down. He obviously didn't know who she was, but her status didn't matter as much right now because all she wanted was to be under that umbrella of his. Damn, is it that hard to share?
"If I wanted to leave, I would have left by now."
"If I wanted to leave, I would have left by now." - Sentence Meme
The petite woman made her way to the nearest Pojangmacha to get soju and a late night snack. She wore a cap over her head to cover her face and a hoodie over it in case she would get discovered by reporters and make tomorrow’s headlines with 'Prime Minister's Daughter Getting Drunk Late at Night'. It was already a dangerous move for her to be doing this; however, it wasn’t a first so she thought it wouldn’t hurt to do this again for the nth time. Besides her bodyguards were always making sure that she was fine and if she were to get hurt, they would receive harsh punishment from her father.
A cool breeze passed by her, making her shiver even through her warm attire. She took quicker steps towards a chair and sat herself down and called out,
❝ Ajumma, one bottle of soju here!Oh, and also mandu please. ❞
She began to take a few sips out from her shot glass and watched her surroundings. It was a beautiful night, seeing the couples and others walking around that decorated Christmas tree. It was a nice sight because she couldn’t have such a thing happen to her, being too preoccupied with the title of being the daughter of the Prime Minister.
A person soon came and sat in front of her and her first thought was her bodyguard who was probably worried that she would get too drunk which had occasionally happened before. She slowly began to feel intoxicated by the drink and started to ramble nonsense, swinging her arms here and there. She spoke of being how hard it was to have such a title and how her brother’s death was all her fault. Trying to gain back to a more conscious state, she tapped her cheeks lightly and looked at who was in front of her. To her surprise, it was a complete stranger who sat there the whole time listening to her rambling. She asked why didn’t he leave her alone, but just sat there and listened.
❝ If I wanted to leave, I would have left by now. ❞
The response he gave her threw her off guard. His words brought her back to a more sober state suddenly and she sat herself up straight. She blankly stared at him for the longest time before she replied to him, still being in a state of confusion. She hoped that he didn’t make out what she was saying because it meant that he would have heard too much and it wouldn’t be good for the both of them, mostly him.
❝ Did you happen to listento everything I had been saying? ❞
"Stay close to me."
"Stay close to me" - Sentence Meme
Classes were always a bore to her, but nevertheless she got through them with ease. She was a good student and having to be the Prime Minister’s daughter was another reason for her to do well in school. She couldn’t possibly be failing her classes and be performing poorly because that would only downgrade the reputation for her father. No matter how much she despised her father, she still has a heart that cares for him.
Making friends was something she was never really good at. She really cared less for people who attended the same school as her. There were just some casual students that she would speak to because they spoke to her first. The woman would never ignite the conversation unless she really had to.
Her class came to end with her professor telling them about an essay that would be due in a matter of days and that the prompt could be found online. She took her bag, grabbed her books and clutched them to her chest as she made her way down the steps of the lecture hall. Before she could make any further steps outside, she was abruptly stopped by the words,
❝ Stay close to me. ❞
Her back was facing the direction the voice seemed to be coming from and her body began to slowly turn around to meet eyes with the male who had stated the comment. Her eyes examined the other with curiosity to his words. Her eyebrows furrowed and lips were pressed together tightly before she returned an answer.
❝ Stay close to you? Why, I don’t even know who you are. ❞

"I-" he stopped after the first word left his mouth, not sure what to say. He wondered if she was upset at something he did, but he recalled nothing that he would have done to induced such a comment. "I’m not quite sure what you’re talking about," Minhyun ended up saying, one hand placed at the back of his neck.
She was sure that he was in a state of confusion. The woman had not directed that comment to him, but rather to the young fellow next to him who she had a little argument with before this stranger walked in and quickly assumed that she was talking to him. What a cute little guy, hah.
❝ Well, first of all, I wasn't talking to you. So, don't worry about it, really.❞
It seemed like he was a bit frightened of her, but who would be scared of someone with such a small appearance? Everyone thought she was an angel, but in reality she could kick all their asses like it was nothing. Quickly remembering that he was still there, she tapped the other's back trying to provide some sense of comfort to him but didn't know why she even bothered. Maybe it was because she was reminded of her dead brother.
❝ Hey, you okay, right? Do you need like tea or something? ❞

Blinking rapidly, the female’s eyes grew wide as she jumped in her spot, a quiet shriek escaping her lips as she moved to the side. “I’m sorry! Are you okay? Is this good?” She asked, tipping her head a bit.
Her reaction was priceless. She wasn't expecting her to be scared in any way, rather she just wanted her to move so that she could simply reach over to grab that instant cup noodles. Hunger was eating at her, literally. She quickly tippy toed in order to grab it before standing back in a more comfortable position. That cup noodles just had to be placed on the highest shelf possible; it was just her day.
❝ I just wanted to get this, sorry if I scared you. ❞
She responded as she waved the item in her hands with a smile upon her visage to show that she meant not harm. Yeolmu pressed her lips together as she stared at the other wondering whether she could go to the cashier to pay or not. She felt like she needed some consent from the other, it was truly odd for her to feel that way.
❝ Did you need something from here too?❞
"So what if I want to sleep until noon?”
The words are grumbled as he is forced to sit up, reaching for the pillow that was stolen from beneath his head in attempt to snatch it back. His hair is mussed and his features still laced with sleep, and he definitely isn’t in the mood for this.
"And since when do you care? What’s the occasion?”
❝ You totally forgot what today is, huh? ❞
Her voice displayed disappointment and with that again, she remembered why she never trusted in people. They would always break promises and pretend nothing happened. She threw back his pillow directly at his face before he could snatch it away from her grasp.
❝ You told me that you would take me out, but I guess you're too sleepy. It doesn't even matter anymore. ❞
She gathered her belongings that she left on his drawer with a faint frown drawn on her lips. A sigh escaped her lips whilst her hands tightly wrapped around the strap of her purse.

"Excuse me?" Alessa tilted her head to one side, looking at the woman who’d addressed her.
She didn't mean to speak aloud, but somehow she just did. Speaking out her thoughts again was something the woman really should learn to get the habit out of. Her blank eyes cautiously moved towards the other, hoping that the other wouldn't get anything out of her useless words.
❝ Oh, I wasn't speaking to you. It's just me babbling to myself again, please don't mind me. ❞
Her fingers brushed her fringe to the side whilst she allowed a deep sigh to escape from her lips. As she exhaled in the fresh air, she slipped her hands into the front pockets of her coat where they would find warmth again.
