i think we as a society moved on too quickly from michiru comparing her relationship with haruka to rei and usagi’s
even better in the viz dub rei’s response is “i doubt anyone could be that close” not even denying the comparison but just recognising that harumichi are so ridiculously gay no one could possibly reach their level
[ID: stills from sailor moon showing michiru saying to rei, “you’re really close, aren’t you? like uranus and me.” rei replies with a confused expression, “don’t compare us.” End ID]

CSM 194 : How Asa sacrificed herself to counter Yoru and save Denji
From Asa's point of view, sharing her mind and body with Yoru is dangerous.
Yoru can turn what belongs to her into a weapon, and it's clear that in these final chapters, unlike at the start of part 2, Asa is the one who appears, but no longer the one who manages daily life (taking part in conversations, eating, sleeping) and, above all, who makes decisions.
This is interference, and Yoru can very well turn Asa's body into a weapon. Semantics are also important: personality. This further blurs the barrier between Yoru and Asa.
I think Asa realized that the more she gave in to Yoru, the more she lost control. When she had wanted to oppose her, Yoru had been offended that she was "afraid" of her or didn't trust her. But : there's nothing more normal than being afraid of a devil.
Asa and Yoru may share their feelings and their bodies, but that doesn't change the fact that they don't share their nature. Yoru is a devil.
Asa has become attached to Yoru, and I think that Yoru loves Asa not in a human sense, but in a purely organic, egocentric way: she's her.
Especially when Asa decides to trust Yoru, Yoru betrays her trust
She even monopolizes Asa's story
When in reality: NO, Asa is not Yoru. Yoru is a parasite who considers her body her own, but that doesn't mean she's the same entity as the invaded body and mind.
If there's one thing that shocks fans, it's the way Yoru steals Asa's first experiences: her first kiss, her """first intimate act""", in a violent way.
When Nayuta says thief, it's not necessarily to be understood as the replica of a possessive little sister, it has a double meaning: Yoru steals Denji from Asa, or rather she steals her own life from her since she steals her experiences.
For the sake of a better union, Asa has accepted this "merger", and it's been "productive".
But she now sees the downside, whether it's Yoru haggling with her body, which is a first split because Asa surely doesn't want to haggle her first time around.
Second split: turning Denji into a weapon. Asa wants to save him at all costs.
The way to save Denji lies precisely in disunity. And I imagine that what Asa would like to do / or at least could do is accentuate the differences. She can't do it through feelings, because Yoru and Asa feel the same. But she can do it through actions and, above all, through the perception of others.
This is a theory, but Asa is someone who has good ideas and who has been able to "turn" a power against a devil several times or who has used Yoru's power in an ingenious way.
So :
Basic rule: Yoru can turn anything she thinks belongs to her into a weapon. The devil of war has indeed drawn close to Denji, which allows her to reinforce this feeling of possession. This is also how Asa feels, since she shares the same feeling as Yoru.
But if she creates distance between herself and Denji, creates animosity in order to fuel a feeling of danger on his part that would push him to back off to protect himself (because he already senses danger, hence his questions to Pochita), Denji no longer belongs to the devil of war
But remember, one can't hide anything from the other, so Asa can't think of a plan
However, she can use what she has observed, how did Yoru manage to surprise her? Through her impulsiveness. Through the Bang. All she did was wait to trigger that sudden instinct to oppose Yoru. And how can she prevent Yoru from regaining control? By scaring herself. Fear is what drives them apart.
Asa did not fight against the interference, she used it: the more Yoru took control, the less she mistrusted, the more she became attached to Denji, the more painful the rejection will be and the more effective the disunity will be. Her absence is her weapon. As well as its loneliness.
Bucky is the symbol of this rejection, but also the key to it. When Asa sees all these chickens again, it is also because she is once more truly alone in her dreams, in her unconsciousness. Running for her is a positive symbol for her character. Yuko and Denji are two beacons of hope, and the fact that she runs is a sign of her emancipation. When she runs in her dreams, she breaks free from Yoru.
Her fears, whether it be the perception of others and rejection, which distanced her from others, from people, from humanity. From now on, this is her best means of rediscovering her humanity. By cutting herself off from the one who had given her back her hope in others.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 219 is the Climax of Part 2's themes as a whole
I think this chapter, and especially this page:
Are the culmination of a good portion of Part 2's theme's Most of part 2 has been about both Denji and Asa struggling to find a way to live their life and cope with their past trauma. Asa is constantly haunted by what happened to her parents, and heavily blames herself for what happens to the people around her, this leads to her fear of human connection and also her extreme loneliness, as she herself said, she's afraid of both(And this is all without mentioning the Yoru shaped elephant in the room). To cope with these feelings, she eventually developed a sort of savior complex, mainly for Denji and Chainsaw man, she desperately wants to help those around her, at the cost of her own well being and safety, like, SHE WAS LITERALLY WILLING TO SACRIFICE HERSELF FOR THE WORLD AND DENJI ONE CHAPTER AGO!! Needless to say, her outlook on her own self worth and putting everyones interests above her own isnt at all a healthy outlook
And then we have Denji. He has been a mess ever since part 1 ended, even when he was living a "happy" and "normal" life with Nayuta, you could tell he was extremely unfulfilled and depressed, after all, he does love Nayuta, but he had everyone he loves taken away from him, and he never allowed himself to work through that trauma, he never allowed himself to confront the loss of power and aki, not only that, his life has stagnated, for 2 years he has been living with Nayuta, fighting devil as chainsaw man but never getting the love he craves so much. even during this time, he was already using temporary pleasures as a way to cope with his trauma, he accepted Miri's and Fumiko's offers because, despite not knowing it himself, he was looking for the intimacy and love from sex, and the recognition and love from being Chainsaw man as a way to distract himself from his pain. He LITERALLY cuts open his own brain with a chainsaw to avoid thinking of Aki and Power, thats how much he is avoiding dealing with his trauma. And his unhealthy way of life and coping comes to its highest during the aging devil arc, after once again losing his will to live and breaking his contract with Pochita, he is at his lowest, because he lost Nayuta, his singular lifeline, and i now being forced to confront his trauma
And what is his solution to this emotional turmoil he is in? This:
After losing his family twice, he decides that he can always find a new family, so he'll be fine! ... There is so much denial in that it hurts. He still can't come to terms with the fact he lost the people he loves the most, now, hes in an EVEN UNHEALTHIER coping mechanism, believing he can just keep losing people and keep going, which is clearly false, and we can prove it with the recent chapters:
Yoshida was someone Denji barely cared about, even during their final meeting, denji was extremely reserved during it, not ever really giving him the time of day. but this one good moment they had was enough for denji to care about him, since he had LITERALLY NO ONE at this time. and despite Yoshida being someone who, minutes ago, Denji didn't care about, watching him die and his corpse being torched the same person who killed Nayuta was enough to send Denji spiraling once again, and losing his will to live, once again breaking his contract with Pochita. its clear he cant just keep going after losing people like he thought he could.
So this brings us to today's chapter.
Denji has finally realized that he can't keep living with the way things are, neither he nor Asa can live a normal life, because there are always people like Yoru, Death and MAKIMA who are trying to take their control and happiness away from them for their own benefit, after all this time, Denji has finally taken control of his own life, for the first time in part 2 he is confronting his unhealthy coping mechanism of denying his problems, him ignoring his trauma and what was done to him in the past is exactly why he is being controlled, and why he is in this current situation. Now, he will deal with his trauma by actively trying to take control of his own future and making his own life worth living while accepting and learning from what happened in this past, that's what he means by creating their own world.
And now, he is inviting Asa to do the same, its no coincidence that in this pannel, he directly mentions what happened to his father, which was something he locked away in his memories for all of part 1 as a way to cope with what he did. now he is directly confronting that fact instead of locking it behind a door. And also, notice how he changed from his child self to his adult self. Denji has finally grown from the little child that was afraid of confronting what happenened to him. Now he is a Mature young man with a full life ahead of him, he has quite literally outgrown his self-harming way of thinking and coping with his trauma.
And now he is promising to help Asa overcome her own traumas, so they can live their own lifes, not defined by what others did to them, and truly moving forward into a happy and normal life. As for what Pochita is doing in the real world and why he ate the death devil.
I disagree with the theories that Pochita did this to Literally help Denji create his own world, one without death. i think people are taking Denji's words too literally. he doesnt mean to create his own world like Death and Yoru are planning on. he means it metaphorically, removing death from the world would be him once again entering in denial, he'll forget what death means, and not be able to confront what happened to his family, WHICH GOES AGAISNT WHAT HE HAS BEEN WORKING ON ACHIEVING!!!
I believe Pochita ate her for 2 reasons The first is obvious, to stop Yoru from turning her into a weapon, since Death is Yoru sister, not only would it already be strong from the guilt she'd feel, but the death devil is already the strongest devil. so the weapon would be SUPER powerful. Second, i think eating death, and then eventually spitting her out is the "Third Way", by doing this, Pochita has a chance at neutralizing Yoru, either by doing something like denji did to the eternity devil, or by finding another way to either convince her to stop, or ripping her off of Asa, without the pressure of death on their shoulders After Yoru is dealt with, all Pochita needs to do is wait for the date of Nostradamus' prophecy to pass and spit her out afterwards, that way, he can both stop Yoru from causing her undying, unending war, and stop the death devil from being unable to stop herself from killing every human on earth through the prophecy, since at the current moment, she no longer exists. So in conclusion, what do i belive is going to happen? THATS RIGHT BABY, DEATH IS GOING TO BE THANKFUL TO DENJI FOR STOPPNG THE END OF THE WORLD AND FINDING A WAY TO STOP THE PROPHECY AND KEEP HER ALIVE, AND SINCE NAYUTA'S DEATH WAS CAUSED BY HER, SHE CAN USE HER POWERS TO REVIVE HER LIKE SHE DID TO FAMI AND GORESAW YEAH BABYYY!!! THE NAYUTA COPIUM NEVER DIES!!!!!!
This is mostly a joke, she probably wont come back, but i do think part 2 will end with Denji and Asa finally being able to find a way to live happily, now they're no longer alone, they have each other, and can help on another to move on from their past trauma and live a normal life.
Dumb question. Where do the Daemons go when in the Organization 13 meeting room? On back of the the tall chairs? Waiting on the ground? On their person’s lap?
They would be with their human; a lot of hem aren't severed so they can't travel far (I think I only made Xemnas and Xigbar have severed Daemons- both for similar lore reasons), but they've got big chairs to sit on so there should be room.
Of course- not all seating is comfortable
