Well, I think that I've gotta go and I don't know why
But I need you to promise that you won't cry
'Cause you'll be fine, and so will I
So, just let the thought of me die
Hamtaro but the hamsters act like hamsters do IRL and try to kill each other
(Started this project WEEKS ago back when I was rewatching Hamtaro, dropped off it for a bit, then picked it back up and finished it across the past week. Anyway have one of my more self-indulgent crossovers of one of my childhood hyperfixations with my current one)

It was sort of funny in a way that Kazuichi knew full well Gundham was beyond upset with him, but he wasn't scared, not even a little bit. Maybe it shouldn't be such a big deal that he wasn't scared of the breeder, given all the bullshit they'd gone through together; from how Kaz used to act, to breakdowns, to shitty dads and everything else in between. It shouldn't, but here he was with affection overpowering any instinctual nerves that tried to push through to the surface.
He'd been led out into the waiting room once Gundham had arrived to sign a release form for the mechanic, his grin as bright as ever, even as he tried to hide his heavily bandaged hand behind his back. Why he didn't know, it wasn't like Gundham hadn't read his medical report at the top of the release, but reading about how your boyfriend cut off an entire finger in an engine and had to get it stitched back on and actually seeing the aftermath were vastly different things.
"Hey, uh...hey..." Rocking from heel to toe, Kaz was rendered near speechless by the wave of unfiltered love that struck him at the question, something that very well could be read as nerves by how his grin wavered around the edges. Gundham was pissed, was clearly going to lecture him, and yet he still showed up, isn't yelling at him in front of everyone, and was even worried about if Kaz had eaten recently. "Heh nah, they uh...they gave me a sandwich and stuff after I woke up from the anesthetic. It's...actually a good thing I didn't eat breakfast, since that would have fucked with my stomach when it started to wear off." That...wasn't as much of a silver lining as he wanted it to be...
"So um...c-can we go now?" Asked with a tilt of Kaz's head like a curious puppy. "I really wanna go back to your room and take a nap or something. I feel like hell." And no doubt looked it too, seeing as along with the usual smearing of grease and oil on his coveralls was the unmistakable staining of fresh blood. "Kinda...kinda dizzy? A-And sort of nauseous...aw man, this car ride's gonna suck..."
As angry as he was and as horrible as it would likely be on Gundhamâs car it was hardly a first that he had to stop halfway or even in the parking lot because of Kazuichi getting car sick, he could only sigh as he nodded. There was no point in making his paramour suffer, not when the doctors had already clearly done everything they could for him right now. BesidesâŠ. He also wanted his lover somewhere far more comfortable and where he could relax instead of here.Â
âVery well⊠we will discuss this further when you are well rested,â he replies, voice soft and full of worry but also a hint of relief that this wasnât something more serious or couldnât be fixed. Though he made a mental note to help him get changed before getting on his bed. His car was one thing, he had animals in there with injuries often. His bed? That was entirely different.Â
Reaching out to grab the mechanicâs good hand, Gundham checked him out before walking out with him to the parking lot, even opening the door to the passenger side for him like a good boyfriend would. After helping him buckle up and getting in himself, he takes a moment to reach over and get something out of the glove box.Â
âHere, see if you can bear to swallow this, my paramour.â It was a little tube of chewy pills, the name of the medicine on the side in bold letters. âThe viridian sojourner had told me of this concoction that has aided him in getting relief when traveling on the road. Perhaps it will be of some use to you.â
The acceptance of his request was expected, but it was the tease that caught Kazuichi of guard, it pulling a giggle laugh from him as he lifted to his toe to press a barely there kiss to Gundham's lips. "You fuckin' better. I think I deserve a reward after all this bull, don't you~?" Purred against the breeder's lips now as arms came up to wrap around his partner's neck. "Could always use your scarf too, if you wanna save a few bucks. You know I don't need much to feel special. Not when it's coming from you." Another kiss, firmer this time as emotions mixed with flirtations.
"Here, take this bit of the chain to that part store in town and tell them you need one for a two-ton engine lift, five feet long." Back to business now, Kaz pulled away from Gundham to unlatch the short bit of chain still attatched to the engine, it showing just how the chain and hitch itself should look like in case he got confused. "Can't remember what the place is called, but it's got an orange sign shaped like a wrench. I go there a bunch, so if you tell them it's for me, they'll put it on my tab there, okay?"
The tease in return gets a chuckle out of him in return. He should have expected that sort of response, and he could only purr in response as he kisses his lover back, already having to push out the images flickering through his head at the ways he was going to ârewardâ Kazuichi after everything he had been through today.Â
Though, now that he had to pay attention, he took the piece of chain, surprised by the weight, and nodded as he was given instructions. It should be easy enough to remember. He had to have taken Kazuichi there once or twice⊠maybe, so it shouldnât be that hard to find. âOf course, I will make haste there so that your task will be done before Seleneâs chariot starts to cross the sky.âÂ
Or in other words, before it even starts to get late, but even as he gave his partner a kiss goodbye, he had no intention of letting Kazuichi pay for this, already planning on paying for it, whether Kazuichi liked it or not along with getting a much less bulky one for fun reasons, but that was a given.
That would explain how she got into a place like an art studio so easily. Though, he could understand in some ways, too. Even if he kept his doors locked for his own reasons mainly animals getting out and not trusting the general student populace from breaking into his dorm and messing with his animals, he could understand not wanting them locked, too.Â
âHmph, as it should be, the infernal Overlord of Ice should never be disgraced enough to be mistaken for the common rabble. Such thoughts are an insult to my very being.â And just wrong, in general, given how he looked, but with his distinct speech, too? Heâd have to be trying to mess someone up if he dropped that, too.Â
âA seer is one that peer through the veil of the present in order to glimpse into the infinite. Though your mortal eyes may lack the ability to see, that does not discount your gift of perception. As for your request to give proper worship to the terror of man⊠that is not my call to make. She alone will deem you worthy or not.âÂ
Though, he knew his dog well enough to know she would as he held her out to them, the little pomeranian happily wagging her tail as her widdle tongue lapped at the painterâs hand asking for a pat.Â
Entering in a flurry of carefully contained anger, Kyle had expected everyone to keep their distance, it being what usually happened when he was visibly angry, so the last thing he expected was a tap to his shoulder, to offer assistance of all things. The only reason he'd even known Levi was there was the sound the machine made against his metal arm, a tear in his hoodie allowing it to clang just a bit louder than it normally would've thanks to the lack of fabric to muffle.
Jumping at the sound, Kyle swore in French lowly under his breath, the former EMT closing the cabinet he'd just opened at the far end of the room in search of exactly what was being handed to him. "Thanks..." He looked familar, but why Kyle couldn't place, something that had become rather commonplace after his accident.
Eyes quickly trailing across Levi's form, Kyle both tried to remember where he'd seen the guy's face before...as well as check the guy out. He was hot, sue him.
"...If I ask if I know you from somewhere, you gonna deck me?" Said without a trace of humor as he set the machine on the nearest clear table, Kyle running through setting the machine up, only to be forced to stop just a moment later with the realization his metal arm wasn't suited for the delicate task of inserting the thread into place.
"Either way, think you could thread this for me?" Said with a huff of aggravation as the spool was lightly pegged against the machine. "I can do the rest myself, but I don't feel like fixin' th' shit if I break it."
Levi wasnât entirely sure if he had met this guy before or not, though, it wouldnât surprise him if he merely forgot. There were so many people around, and really, it was more of a miracle that he could remember all of his classmates, nevermind anyone outside of it, even if the question made his brow furrowed in confusion.Â
âI donât see how that would be beneficial to me in such a situation. Wouldnât it be better to merely reintroduce myself?â From anyone else, that might come off as sarcastic. From Leviâs tone⊠it could be hard to tell, but he was sincere. Even as he went over to do as he was asked, the action hardly took a second from him with how often he had to.Â
âHere, it should be ready. Though, are you sure you want to go through the trouble? There are quite a few articles that the school could provide that wouldnât go missing.â With all the students and staff that took from the students that worked in textiles, it was impossible to miss an outfit, especially one that would suit him.
