After the execution, you all returned to your cabins, a short sigh leaving your lips.
This had become so regular...the routing of death. You wanted to say perhaps it all bothered you...But it didn't.
What bothered you was that the idea of someone dying had become natural.
You tried to push these thoughts to the deeper crevasses of your mind, hoping you could focus on...something...anything else.
Like, the vibrant but dangerous looking clouds that started to form up in the purple tinted sky. Across the land on the other side of the wall, you could see there was something similar happening over there. Strange...Maybe a motive come early? You wouldn't doubt it.
Suddenly you heard a voice calling out to you, glancing up to the top of the wall, where Cre and their counterpart stood.
{☾ Not to make this sound frantic and urgent...but it's sorta urgent. Get inside, NOW. Doesn't have to be your cabin. JUST GET INSIDE
The sky rumbled and started to break into bolts of bright light.
{☾ DID I FUCKING STUTTER?? GET INSIDE. NOW
You didn't protest, racing into the closest shelter and shutting the door, taking small glances outside as the sky seemed to open up and rain down bolts of lightning so bright it hurt your eyes.
It all escalated, until strikes of lightning hit every moment, making you breath shallowly over the fear that your shelter might be hit.
The ground shook, bolts hitting the earth every so often, and with one final glimpse outside, it seemed like the world around you was...breaking down.
This was unlike any storm you'd ever been through.
Suddenly with a flash of bright white light, the entire world disappeared from your sight...Mostly because you had to look away from the light.
All you heard were the sounds of screams and the crumbling and crashing of a very very large mass.
ISSEI OGAWA, SHSL CLASSICAL PIANIST, HAS BEEN FOUND GUILTY
COMMENCING EXECUTION.
-.-.-.-
Suddenly, Issei was gone, chains wrapped around his wrist. He was standing in the courtroom one second, and then he wasn’t.
"I…"
He didn’t beg for forgiveness, not one last attempt at salvation. He knew what he had done. He would protest.
"J-just… Tell Kyo that I’m sorry… I’m… I’m so sorry…"
Even as he was dragged away, silent as ever, you could hear his hauntingly quiet apology echo hollowly around the room.
But as he was pulled further and further from the court, you could hear pained wails and harsh screams.
-.-.-.-
EXECUTION:
OPENING NIGHT
-.-.-.-
Everything was dark, that you could see, but then the lights came on.
It was a stage. Surrounding it were hundreds, if not thousands, of mannequins, each with a stupidly gleeful face on, merry colours, like nothing was wrong. Each ‘person’ around the stage was applauding, their excitement clear and overwhelming.
And in the middle of the stage, set up right in the middle of the stage, a piano in front of him, was Issei Ogawa.
His wrists visibly had braces on them, and when you looked close enough, you could see a purpley swell of broken bones and agitated flesh. It was obvious that the chains, wrapped so violently and tight, had crushed his wrists when they had dragged him away. Each hand also had a clear glove over it, and when Issei tried to pull away from it, he just hissed in pain, and his eyes watered. They wouldn’t come off. Each glove connect beneath him, running down, via wire, to the floor.
And then the announcer came on.
“LADIES AND GENTLEMAN! PLEASE WELCOME THIS NIGHT’S FEATURED GUEST! THE TALENTED ISSEI OGAWA!”
And his hands started moving. The wires underneath him bobbed up and down, the gloves moving its fingers on their own accord, his fingers started to play.
Issei cried out in pain. Right now he was playing a simply tune, a quick arpeggio warm up. But it hurt like hell. His wrists were shattered by now, the struggling to escape while being dragged away making it all the worse. Both purple wrists protested under the movement. The tears were running down his cheeks. In a desperate attempt not to cry out in pain, he bit down, and through, his lip.
It was over quickly, the little medley only meant to be a warm up. Not that Issei needed it, his wrists so badly abused and broken that a warm up only made it worse. And he sighed in relief.
Blood ran down his chin, from how hard his bit his lip, and his wrists looked ghastly, the swelling raging out of control. The tears had stopped a while ago, not enough left to fall.
Then it started again. By now, others had gathered around him, a group of violins, a group of flutes, among others. Each one had warmed up with him, as he played, and when they stopped, each one pulled out a folder, containing sheet music. They picked out the first piece, and spread it out.
One…
Two…
Three…
A total of seven pages long, cords and outlines and small strings of notes. And it stated once more.
An orchestral arrangement of the Solfeggio in C minor. Long and grueling. Lots of exertion.
Lots of pain.
He doubled over when it started, his head colliding with the piano. It resounded loudly with a harsh thunk and a cry of pain. But the cry continued, a long whisper of pain, Issei’s vocal cords much too worn out to sob. His chest shook with pain, and his breaths became sparser and sparser.
Everyone around Issei was playing merrily, as though nothing was was happening. The flutes played shrilly, loud enough to deafen. But Issei was still was sobbing on the piano, having bitten into the the wood, hard, to stop himself from biting through his tongue.
It didn’t work well, he was bleeding from his mouth still, from earlier wounds, and blood ran lightly over the polished wood of the piano.
And soon enough, that piece ended as well. But each player around him reached down to their folders, and pulled out a second piece.
Flight of the Bumblebee.
Shutting his eyes tight, Issei sobbed and he was forced to run a quick scale, to warm up. And then it began all over again.
It wasn’t far into the song before a loud crack resounded from Issei’s wrists. A bone was now jutting out of his right wrist, the blood pouring profusely from the opening. His arm and his hand clearly weren’t connected well, the movements between the two not quite connected. His head slammed back down on the piano again, the wood audibly cracking and buckling underneath the force of his cranium. Blood was now leaking out from under his mouth as well, having bitten through his lip from the pain.
Only now were the people in the audience noticing him, and how much pain he was in. But…
“Wh-what? What is that man d-doing?”
“My god! Th-that man has gone insane!”
“There’s something wr-wrong with him, what is he doing? Oh god, what is going on?!”
“Hol-… Holy shit! Someone stop him! He’s going insane, someone restrain him!”
As the audience quickly fled, the pandemonium rising up around him making matters worse. The performers around him dropped their instruments and ran as well, their stands tipped over and chairs on their sides. But Issei’s hands kept running on, the music, by now, broken, and he tried to pull away from the piano, the pain too much, and the panic around him scaring him more than before.
“Sir, we’ll have to ask you to leave for inappropriate conduct.”
Barely able to lift his head, he saw the flash of a security badge, the holster at their side, and they were standing over him.
“Sir, we’ll have to ask you to leave for inappropriate conduct.”
Trying to gasp out a response, Issei tried to lift his head from the piano again, but with his wrists constantly moving, the pulling and tugging of his tendons, he just slammed his head back onto the piano in pain. Letting out a gasping sob, he shivered. His arms were losing feeling in them, and a cold numbness, a slimy, disgusting feeling, crept down from his arms, his head spinning.
“Sir, we’ll have to ask you to leave for inappropriate conduct.”
Pushing back the bench he was sitting on, he tried to force himself up, away from the piano, just stop the pain, stop it, stop it!
But then they grabbed him by the arm, and tugged, trying to lead him off the stage. And they tugged hard, too. His wrist made audible snapping and grinding sounds, loud and painful. Screaming, Issei collapsed to his knees, and pulled away from security guards. They had no faced, the blank white of the mannequins figure emotionless.
But still, almost as if their brow was furrowing, they grabbed onto his arm again, and tried to pull him off stage.
“Sir, we’ll have to ask you to leave for inappropriate conduct.”
But that was the straw that broke the camel’s back. A huge crack resounded throughout the room, a disgusting sound worse than nails on a chalkboard.
And the gloves disconnect from the wires. They came loose, and now he was free. Issei was free to run away, but he didn’t.
He couldn’t.
When they pulled, there was a ghastly, fleshy ripping sound, and the skin and muscle around his started to tear from from itself. Bloody fragments of bone fell onto the floor, and the muscle peaked out from the profusely bleeding wound.
Now rolling senselessly on the ground, the pain he was experiencing not something he could express in sounds, Issei was deathly silent. His head was swimming, and he couldn’t feel anything but his wrist, a hot searing sensation that was as though he was slowly setting his hand on fire, but an ice cold and slimy sensation, crawling when was no longer there.
The guard grabbed him again.
“Sir, we’ll have to ask you to leave for inappropriate conduct.”
But he kicked them away, the pain in his wrist too much to manage. He thrashed and he screamed, his vocal chords giving way, until it was just a raspy breath being pulled from his throat, barely even audible. But then the guard descended, the act of violence, something Issei, at this point, couldn’t even control, sending them over the edge.
The tugging turned to scratched, as Issei writhed on the ground. The scratching turned to hitting. The hitting turned to bludgeoning, when the guards couldn’t hold Issei down. Soon they were all over him, Issei’s body not even visible any more.
But then they parted. Issei was all over the stage, a hand here, his jacket torn over there, an entire leg of his pants completely gone. Blood ran profusely over what remained of him, even flowing off the stage. There were holes in his body, as well as a few more bullet holes lining the stage.
He was completely obliterated. His body was torn to shreds, barely recognizable.
An employee walked by the body, with a mop and a bucket. He put the bucket down, and slopped the mop into it. He started to clean, the water slowly but surely cleaning what was left of Issei away.
The answer was obvious, right? It was Issei. That made her feel a bit bad; He'd seemed nice when she'd talked to him earlier. "I... I vote... Issei..."
Four votes for Issei!
Mia was furious. The fuck? This guy almost had her blamed for the murder! She frowned, glancing away, she voted for Issei.
Three votes for Issei.
Simple and Clean / Nene / Re: Issei
"Self-defense. You probably just didn't want to disappear. Also I told you I'm ace. The only reason I'd be touching anyone on the butt, chest, or what have you is to find evidence. and you were hiding the ID card like your life depended on it.
Preeeeeeeeetttttyyyyy sure you're suspicious now. especially as you're trying your hardest to bs your way through this."
*whispers* You Touched The Butt... || Issei || Trial Post: 4
"H-hey!"
For Issei to end a sentence forcefully, instead of trailing off softly, something was definitely up.
However, as he turned around and grabbed for the ID card, his face was glowing bright, violently bright, red. For a second or two, Issei couldn't even form a word, to yell at Nene, (Though knowing Issei and his laid back attitude, he wouldn't have yelled, anyways) and simply grabbed the card,
"D-don't d-do th-that!"
Shoving the card into his back pocket again, quickly, he grimaced, and turned back to everyone momentarily,
"I found it while investigating, anyways. And anyways, what use would I have for this motive...?! I don't even know any of you that well, at all...!"
Trying (And failing) to not sound defensive, and glared back at Nene,
"A-and don't j-j-just g-go touching p-p-peopl-ple like th-that...!"
His blush, despite the circumstance, had not died down. But his expression, more desperate than embarrassed, certainly did not match.
Hikaru votes for Issei.
Two votes for Issei.
And with that, Ichiro boops a vote for him.
One vote for Issei.
The proof is in the pudding / Nene / Re: Issei
Nene smirked as Issei turned, fingers swiftly moving to the other's back pockets. Quietly he mumbled with a quiet grin.
"Thank you Aaminah..."
Well he wasn't perfect, but he did...
Get the id. Walking back to his podium -well more like sprinting- the singer turned.
"It's a pocket for a reason. even if it's difficult you can put them in."
Since Issei's so nicely turned away, Ichiro foribly picks his back pockets.
Thank you based Issei.
Ichiro successfully retrieves something from the back pockets, however Issei easily notices. In Ichiro's hand now however is a certain meterologist's ID Card.
Are You Touchin' My Butt Kiddo? || Issei || Trial Post: 3
"Wh-what...?"
Rather startled when Nene came over to check his pockets, Issei jumped. He went to turn around though, and faced Nene,
"That is my butt you know... I mean, sure... Check them, and all... But if I can't even get them open, how am I supposed to put something in there...? And were you not even listening to what I said...?"
He was rather ticked that someone had the audacity to try and touch his butt (Even though Issei totally knew that wasn't the point of the gesture.), but with his rather tired, and half done attitude, there wasn't any yelling or protest. Still, despite his inability (Or simple unwillingness) to give a shit, he had protested, and was now facing Nene face on,
"At least warn someone if you're going t-to start feeling them up... Uh... Not to say that you were trying to get frisky in full view of everyone, c-cause I know this is a trial, and... Well, you weren't...? But... Yeah..."
Ending his sentence awkwardly (Oh you total idiot you, Issei) he smiled at Nene again,
"So lay your hands off of me... I'd appreciate it... I don't particularly like people touching me...!"
He then turned around to face the group, though his smile was a bit quirked, and rather forced. Still, he addressed the group,
"But enough about that... After all, if I can't get my hands in, how am I supposed to get an ID card in, when I have no manual control over it...? I can't, anyways... And it'd still b-be nice to have my questions answered, or else we can't solve the crime without them, right...?"
Right...?
Completely ignoring Nene, now, as though nothing had happened, Issei did his best to get on with the trial.
Completion / Nene / Re: Pocket check / Attn: Issei
Nene quirked a brow when nothing seemed to come up, bit listening to Issei's rant..
"Let me see those then."
He quickly moved to the pianist's back pockets, checking them for him.
Little Pocket Treasures || Issei || Trial Post: 2
"A pocket search...? Sure..."
Issei tucked his hands into his pockets, and pulled out a worn down pencil, an eraser, and some small scraps of paper, which had bar lines and notes scribbled on them. He also reached into his jacket pocket, on the inside, and pulled out his student ID.
"I also have back pockets, but... I can't undo them really... The buttons are rather inconvenient, and I can't do it by myself... They're covered by a second layer of cloth, and... Uhh, yeah..."
He smiled awkwardly at the end, and then nodded. Putting his things back in his pockets, he pursed his lips. It was hard to solve a crime when you didn't know much about it. Regardless, however, it had to be solved, and right now, not much was getting done.
Knowing what happened when someone was convicted, he really didn't want to find out when they weren't.
"I'm... I'm not sure I want to find out... What if we tie the votes... And then both are executed...? What if the executed is randomized between the two we vote...? What if an innocent dies because of our indecisiveness...? I don't want to be at fault for that, and I'm sure that you do not either...
"However, we have evidence, right...? We should be able to find out, right...? It's not the surfer, because she does not have an arm to grind with a pestle, or, mind you, open up a pill bottle, but of which were described to be at the hospital... If it is not her, then we've narrowed down the suspects to someone who is likely either the victim's height, or weight... Possibly both... You mentioned something about a hair curler, right...? Maybe it was the victim's... Possibly... She did have curly hair...
"But... That means that someone has her ID card, possibly right now, as we speak... I doubt they will come forward, since they'd be suspected immediately... But if that's the case... Someone, the murderer, most likely... Was in her room, with her card... I think it's safe to assume that it would be postmortem, right? Why else would they have had her card... And not her...? So if it was postmortem, which I'm willing to believe... Then that means whatever happened to her, which cased her to smell of alcohol and bile... Is from antemortem, right...?
"People don't throw up postmortem, that requires life... So... If she threw up antemortem... And it wasn't in her room, which was likely postmortem... Then it was at the cafe that she died, unless you want to tell me they moved the whole scene... Throw up and all... But I won't believe that, cause that'd be impossible, right...?
"So she dies in the cafe... With the murderer still there...? I don't know... And then she must have been a mess, if she was the one who made the mess... Which is why the murderer stole her key, because I didn't see a mess where we found her, not on her... Not on the ground... She must have been cleaned up for some reason... Which further supports the idea that the murderer was in her room postmortem, and currently has her card, possibly on them...
"But that's still of a lot of questions... Why use the pills AND the alcohol... I know that alcohol is poisonous, but it wouldn't kill unless it was a suicide... So the pills must have done the job... But then why use the alcohol...? It'd have destroyed the cake, so what purpose did it serve...? If it was just to cover up the cake in her mouth, then it was a poor job, since we found the rest of the cake, and she still smelled of bile... We also found cake at the kitchen, right...? Someone said that there was cake on the pots and pans...? So we already knew there was cake, they didn't try to cover up the existence of the cake... So why were both used...?
"And why was the body cleaned up...? This murder was horrible, because there's bruising, and throw up, and pills and alcohol, and the like... It didn't seem like the killer had a problem killing her... Was it remorse...? Did they not want to see her dead, but wanted out enough to kill her...? Is there something we're not seeing...?
"And I think, most importantly... Why was she sitting up in the field...? That's require muscle movement, to continue sitting up... That's why muscle relaxants are such powerful sedatives... So if she was dead, her muscles shouldn't have been working... So how was she still sitting up...?"
Of Pocket lint/Kenta/ Re:Ichi
Upon hearing the singer requesting them all emptying their pockets Kenta assempled his various things in front of him on the podium, A few pens, A pair of gloves, and his Student I.d. And a few stray Dust bunnies.
"Sorry it's not me. but i still have a thought. Why are we trying to catch the killer? Like something about this trial isn't adding up. Have we tried tying the votes to see what will happen?"
hikaru madoka || chapter three, trial three || RE: nene
Hikaru blinked a couple of times. His pockets were well, nonexistant. A quick look at his attire makes it evident that without his cloak, the boy has no place to store items. Impratical? Yes.
"Though we have figured out that I've been ruled out, this adds another reason why."
A Surefire Solution | Ai | Re: Ichiro
All right, a pocket search. There's no way that wouldn't turn out results. Especially since...
"My skirt doesn't have pockets. Actually, I don't usually carry even my own ID with me. So you can count me out."
