Los Autores Vieja Reserva - made by âEl Brujoâ Ezequiel GarcĂa (the wizard behind all legendary CVNE Riojas from the 1950s-1970s) selected top vineyard parcels in #riojaalta &#riojaalavesato make a savory and classic aged wine. Think of this as the Equipo Navazos of Rioja! #letsdrinksomewine #newintheshop
Life is finer with Manzanilla. Â The best aperitif alongside some fried Marcona almonds and green olives, these dry sherries are refreshing and incredibly versitle.Â
A current selection of our shop faves:  *La Guita Manzanilla (fresh salty and bright) *Bodegas Barbadillo Manzanilla En Rama Invierno (made from the oldest butts in the solera, and averages 8 years old, with unrivaled complexity and chamomile aromas) *Equipo Navazos âI THINK Manzanilla En Ramaâ (from the famous âsherry huntersâ so the quality is outstanding and with some bottle age makes it a more delicate and wine-like unfiltered sherry to discover).
All in stock in our shop.
Incredibly special wine tasting on Monday, April 23rd. Â From 5:30-7:30pm with the exclusive wineries above. Â Producers in attendance, and free to all. Â Come taste some wine with us!
CVNE Vina Real Reserva 1964 CompañĂa VinĂcola del Norte de España (CVNE), founded in 1879, is one of the oldest Rioja producers. For nearly one century, CVNE has produced the top brands of Viña Real and Imperial. This wine is 54 years old!  A rare feat for many bottles, let alone the access to them when stored in perfect conditions.  From a vintage classified as âexcellentâ - perhaps one of the very best in the 20th century noted for being exceptionally long-lived and energetic.  What a beautifully mature nose!  One of those vintage wines that you want to smell and breathe in again and again, almost being satiated by the aroma before you even get to the actual palate.  The drinking part is not a letdown.  A touch hard at the beginning - it doesnât want to give it all away quickly.  You coax out all of that warm leather, cedar, spice, and hints of menthol, as well as so many other tertiary notes that make older wine such a joyous occasion. Â
The Natural Wine scene in Spain is EXPLODING! Â No doubt some of these bottles may look familiar, but with such small production, we are finding the next new exciting producers to keep the shelves (and your glasses) full.Â
Starting at the top: *If you like Partida Creus âBBâ (a fresh bubbly from Bobal) -Â
then try Clos Lentiscus âGentlemant Sumollâ (a rare and almost extinct grape with high acid and light pink color) [OR] Alba Viticultores âBrut Nature Rosadoâ (from Albariza soils, by a madman in Andalucia of all places! Who has everyone in the Grower Champagne movement intrigued)Â
*If you like Partida Creus âVNâ (an unfiltered field blend of Garnatxa Blanca, Macabeu, Vinyater, Moscatel, Xarel-Lo, PansĂ©, and Parellada with zero sulfur) -
then try Costadorâs âMetamorphika Macabeu Brisatâ (whole cluster, zero sulfites, light orange-hued, and aged in amphorae) [OR] MicroBioâs âCorrecaminosâ (a verdejo that is like a delicious, cloudy lava-lamp of bright citrus flavors and gets chugged down all too quickly!)
*If you like Partida Creus â VNâ (a bright, Jura-like red that has unseen freshness from a field-blend of Trepat, Sumoll, Garrut, Queixal de Loop, Ull de Perdiu, Garnacha & SamsĂł) -
then try Celler La Saladaâs âRoig Boigâ (pronounced Roy-ch Boy-ch and a light, chillable red blend meant to be a whole lot of summer fun) [OR] Mas CandĂâs âCaboriesâ (a tart-and-tangy blend of Xarello & Sumoll that explodes like July fireworks in your mouth)
The ONLY way to open those special vintage bottles is with the Durand. Â Available in our shop or online.
Of course, we sell PorrĂłnes! Â Available in 3 sizes in our shop made in Spain with hand-blown glass. Â The largest size is 1L and $24.99.
