#went to Seattle and Vancouver which I had wanted to for a long time #got really into genealogy last year #and this year while looking into my swedish roots for the first time #I discovered a whole new branch of the family we never knew existed #bc of pre-marital children before my great grandmother emigrated to Norway #in 1894 #and they were looking for us #and came to Norway and met my mother #and got to see photos of relatives and family they knew nothing about and never knew existed #and family was reunited 130 years later #and gaps were filled in #it felt so meaningful and was so rewarding #amazing what you can find in the digital archives #also my baby nephew started walking and talking this year #and knows I’m his auntie 💕
