Just to share with you my thoughts about last night’s episode. I get why some people got sort of upset about “killing” Rosario’s character. We all love her. And so does Karen. Very much. Karen is a character, like really a character of herself. She plays a role of a woman who “has no emotions” (as she said earlier in the series) and, like someone who had a tough beginin in life, she toughened herself up and wants everybody else to believe she’s above everything and everyone. But, as we could see throughout the whole series, the writers want us to know that Karen is more than a character. She is (or could be) a real person. As an actor, I strongly believe in the importance of creating layers and humanizing a character. It doesn’t matter how crazy and “unreal” they might seem. It was also important to give a closure for Rosario’s story and to praise all the beautiful work Shelley Morrison did on W&G. Megan said that she feels she doesn’t have the chance to show everything she can do as an actor, because people don’t give her much of dramatic roles or scenes to play and she is so proud of this episode which, I’m sure, we all are too. Karen can be crazy, drunk, insanely rich and really, really mean if she wants to, but she’s a person, and I love when she gets to show it.
