          Eyes flickered. Vision: hazy. A dim light shone through his         lidded eyes, albeit dim causing the man to once more shut         his eyes to shield them from the light. ..Once more: though         this time with a hand to block the source of light that was          what penetrated his vision instantaneously, allowing his         eyes to slowly adjust to the light.

         ..Sleeping? No, perhaps not..  Recollections of memories         echoed in his mind, several worse than the others, a few         pleasant ones causing him to smile oh so gently. 

       ❝ ... Allen..? ❞ The word escaped his lips like a distant         memory, though his mind still hazy from his recent awakening        the name was clearly enunciated. An exhalation of breath        emerged from his breath soon after, gaze now averted to his        hands that trembled. He remembered. Everything that he         wished were nothing but a dream came to him, and he         remembered it all.

                                                      I was.. asleep.                                                      How long was I gone..?

Staring at the man in front of her, she remained silent a few moments before answering,

… Oh… the book is entitled “ Alice in Wonderland “. I read it hundreds of times but I can’t get enough of it..

It wasn’t surprising; after all, the story is fascinating, especially for the children. While deep in thought, she then realized that she had become silent again. Not wanting to ruin the mood, she talked once again.

Wh– oh, ha ha ! sorry, I didn’t introduce myself. My name is Anis. I spend most of my time at the library. She crossed her arms. What about you ? Who are you ?

        Alice in Wonderland.. A book that he had ownership to,         at the very least-- Allen had definitely read it several          times by now. It was a pleasure to read for both young         and old, so it was no surprise that this girl would be          indulging herself in its wondrous tale as well. Though,          that would mean that he ought to acquire a different         book instead of Alice in Wonderland.

         .. She liked books, didn’t she? Perhaps it would be          a help to ask for her opinion as to what he ought to          get for Allen, as someone with similar interest. 

        ❝ Ah, a classic. Perhaps he might’ve read it            already as well.. Ah! It’s a pleasure to meet            you, Anis.                   - he chuckled, tapping his cheek. -                          Myself.. I’m usually called Teacher            by the children in my care. Though.. would            you like to help me select some books? I’d            like to bring some back as a present.  ❞

The girl said to nobody, while extending her hand to the book she was looking for. She was seriously going to give up, finding the situation ridiculous. In the end, the book was grabbed by someone else’s hand. Tilting her head, she looked at the stranger with a bit of confusion in her eyes, but was quickly replaced by joy when he handed the book to her. It was her turn to smile, taking the novel in her two hands.

Thank you! She said while raising her look towards the man. She never saw him before, and to be honest, she found him quite… strange…? Hum, she started again, … I am also sorry, maybe I disturbed you when I was… trying to grab the book…

         Her gratitude was met with a kind smile, though          he took a quick glance at the book that he had          helped her attain too. Coincidentally enough, her          fingers seemed to be covering the title.. it really          did seem like a book that Allen would have taken          an interest to. Perhaps he ought to simply ask?

          ❝ Oh, not at all. By the way.. what book is that,               if I may ask? A child I’m taking care of may               enjoy it, judging from its cover. ❞

         A bookstore. One that he would not have stumbled          upon if he had not met a particular child that had          a love for what lies beyond those doors. Quiet          tinkling reverberates upon his pushing the doors--          as well as his noticing a young girl trying to reach          for a book at the higher shelves.

           ❝ Ah, let me help you.. Here! ❞

         A smile played upon his lips as he handed it to          her, silently hoping that she was not offended.

Slides in a golden trophy. Or well, a handmade one out of cardboard covered with gold spray paint, anyways. To add onto this latest arts-and-craft masterpiece, there was various kinds of macaroni, beads, and buttons glued all over it for decoration. The words 'Best Dad' is handwritten in the middle. Happy Father's Day, Teacher. You get another present.

What luck, he had been watching from the World in silence, hand upon the opened cupboard that he could not traverse through. The silent gift was silently received, though not physically but from sight. It wasn’t the most neat gift that he had received, but the decorations seemed to imply that it had been handmade by the boy, and perhaps together with the other children.

A smile slipped onto his lips, his hand clenching into a fist lightly, as he watched upon the boy placing the trophy by his bedside, and wordlessly walking back out of the room. 

Perhaps the favour of gifting one another could be returned when Allen found the book that Teacher had hidden from his sights. What was his plans? Who was to say that they would know.

          The very chance that he had to stumble upon            another individual was slim in any circumstance,           considering that he rarely made his way to any            where outside the facility. Of course, he did have           his chances whilst doing groceries-- which would           be how he bumped into this person. 

          Very much literally, bumped into them. Physically.

             ❝ Ah! I’m sorry, I wasn’t seeing where I was                 going at the time.. I do hope you’re alright. ❞

Cheshire knew someone was entering the world, it wasn’t a delicious meal kid, more the foolish teacher who was there a long time ago. The feline didn’t mind, he was no meal, but he killed off ones boredom pretty fine.

           Any sort of familiarity shown by the creature was            anything but pleasing for the adult as he arrived            in the dream-like world, eyes narrowing at his            comment. An expression of annoyance flitted             past his features but for a brief moment before            a forced smile finds its way upon his lips.

               ❝ ..Cheshire. The very idea of my being here                      to ‘visit’ you makes me feel unnerved.                       You are aware that there has been more..                      visitors in this world, no? Your riddles and                      jokes do not interest me, but in exchange                      of information.. perhaps.❞

           Dealing with the feline had become a daily basis            upon his taking in the numerous children, which            did make him relatively well verse in confronting            him. Which was plenty useful right now.

Slides a handmade scrapbook towards his direction. If you were to flip through the pages, they'd be filled with pages of different handwriting and pictures from the children detailing all the various reasons as to why they love the intended recipient so much. Happy Mother's day, Teacher.

If he were awake, a smile would’ve played upon his lips as he read through each and every page, before going along and making some sort of special dinner for them all. Though, yes– he would certainly protest to the fact that they saw him as a mother figure rather than a father, he would be happy that they thought of him as a parent in anyway.

.. Though all Allen got in response was light breathing, his eyes still fluttered closed and no signs of stirring whatsoever. He could not speak, could not say a word as to whether he appreciated this gift, and show no signs of waking any time soon.

One could have sworn that they say him smile in his slumber as Allen left the room, before it faded away as quickly as it appeared.

It’s not every day you find a perfectly empty vessel like this one though! Sure, it probably would’a been better if he decided on the pact years ago, but gettin’ a turn on the wheel from him is actually a lot more easier than most folks. Plus, there’s lots of perks from this deal! I don’t hafta’ eat souls anymore, and now I can travel through both worlds and Worlds freely. ‘course, that also extends towards him too. That’s the only reason why you’re here right now. Can’t blame me if brats decide to do what they’re not supposed to do. Tell ‘em to stop, and they do just the opposite of that! You’d know that wouldn’t you, Mr. David?

Empty? He couldn’t possibly be empty, his memories aside. Myself and the children kept him company.. for quite some time. Though it took time, I saw him smile, again. You lie. I would approve of this ‘deal’ if you did not torment him as you do, nor do you torment the other children. I didn’t ask to be saved. ... I am aware. But I do not trust your presence here. And do not call me ‘David’. The added fact that you are here means that you are up to something. You only provided Allen the choice of a pact for a reason. What is said reason? For that I do not trust you. And I will stop at nothing to chase you out of the body that is rightfully his.

....... ..Your idea of fun is twisted, you horrid cat.  Perhaps if you were not inhibiting his body, he wouldn’t be more fragile than he already was. Though he is no longer a child, you still decide to torment him? .. You demons can feed on souls that have passed. Why inhibit the body of a human, and simply torment them?   ... Logic doesn't apply to you, though. You promised not to allow them into the doors. What a promise that was.
