You under no circumstance should have to be grateful for them taking care of the required responsibilities THEY MADE FOR THEM SELVES.

They have no right to take that away just because they feel that they’re doing you a favour by keeping you alive.

They were the ones to decide that you would live with them and agreed to everything that came with it, with required obligations as part of it.

If you seriously believe that that is okay, then I am sorry for the life you had to live that made you that way.

Children are not a toy.

Children are not a pass time.

They are a commitment.

They are a lot of work.

They are an agreement that you are going devote the rest of you life to do everything you can to help this child grow into a well developed functional human being.
