Yes, my friends the “That’s what she said..” jokes riddled this panel but that’s not what I want to point out.
Right in this moment, Jensen says “We’d be doing that [bad jokes] at home, though.” And Misha agrees, “I know, but these poor people…”
First off, not going too deep into Cockles territory—yet— At face value they’re saying here that they joke together. It’s not just for the con. They're not putting on an act. They joke, they tell each other bad jokes, they talk, they’re friends.
Major tinhatting: Jensen’s choice of words is what I find suspect. He says “We’d” and “at home”. He coulda just said, this is how we always are, this is how we do, even ‘back home’ which is a broader sense of place.
But no, to me, the word choice is very intimate. “We’d”: Him and Misha. And even within the context of this whole conversation it’s him and Misha. No else is mentioned, no others friends, no this how us homies/bros or even the rest of the cast/friends joke. No inclusion of anyone else.
Him and Misha “at home”. It’s not a broad place. He doesn’t say when “we hang out” or “on the phone” or “on the set” or even homes. The structure of this sentence (again disclaimer: to me) is intimate. It’s them 2 in 1 place: at home.
Even the “at” makes it a direct instead of a vague place. We say the kids/parents are at home. We’re at home. At-home test kits. The “at” makes it a direct/individual place. It’s pointing out HOME.
This is how they are at home. Together. In one place: home.
TLDR: I’m not gonna say that they’re living together but I’m not not gonna say it either. What do u think?
