Yes, my friends the âThatâs what she said..â jokes riddled this panel but thatâs not what I want to point out.
Right in this moment, Jensen says âWeâd be doing that [bad jokes] at home, though.â And Misha agrees, âI know, but these poor peopleâŚâ
First off, not going too deep into Cockles territoryâyetâ At face value theyâre saying here that they joke together. Itâs not just for the con. They're not putting on an act. They joke, they tell each other bad jokes, they talk, theyâre friends.
Major tinhatting: Jensenâs choice of words is what I find suspect. He says âWeâdâ and âat homeâ. He coulda just said, this is how we always are, this is how we do, even âback homeâ which is a broader sense of place.
But no, to me, the word choice is very intimate. âWeâdâ: Him and Misha. And even within the context of this whole conversation itâs him and Misha. No else is mentioned, no others friends, no this how us homies/bros or even the rest of the cast/friends joke. No inclusion of anyone else.
Him and Misha âat homeâ. Itâs not a broad place. He doesnât say when âwe hang outâ or âon the phoneâ or âon the setâ or even homes. The structure of this sentence (again disclaimer: to me) is intimate. Itâs them 2 in 1 place: at home.
Even the âatâ makes it a direct instead of a vague place. We say the kids/parents are at home. Weâre at home. At-home test kits. The âatâ makes it a direct/individual place. Itâs pointing out HOME.
This is how they are at home. Together. In one place: home.
TLDR: Iâm not gonna say that theyâre living together but Iâm not not gonna say it either. What do u think?
