A dose of destiel a day to keep the blues away

A fic rec posted everyday with the aim of spotlighting new(ish) fics and/or lesser known authors. This blog is a WIP so please bare with me and let me know any improvements. A tag page is imminent. Once I work out how to make it.... The kudos system on AO3 makes it tough for newer fics to get the attention they deserve and so many amazing stories slip through the cracks. I hope this blog makes it easier to find and enjoy a selection of the wonderful fics which are produced everyday If you know of a fic, especially your own work, which deserves a lot more love than it's getting, drop by and let me know :)

Dean drains his bottle of beer, sets it on the table and gets up, heading for the kitchen. Maybe to fetch another, maybe to leave. But Castiel doesn’t want him to go, doesn’t want to leave this conversation unfinished; he remembers his regret of just a few hours ago, that Dean had never known how he loved him.

“Wait,” he says and gets to his feet as Dean passes by. They’re standing close – close enough that Castiel can feel the heat of Dean’s body, the vibrancy of his soul brushing against his grace. “Dean, I have to tell you something...”

Set after the S11 finale.

“On an island where people are hunted by the monstrous Dick Roman, Dean is on a desperate search for his missing brother when he meets a lost angel named Castiel. Together, they face off against predators and monsters alike on their hunt to find Sam and escape the island before it's too late.

Inspired by the short story "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell, this AU is set in a world where humans co-exist with angels, vampires, demons, werewolves, etc.; however, there are no supernatural/magical elements.”

This fic is dark, violent and gritty. It’s pyschological horror balanced perfectly with adventure and a deep, developing bond between Dean and Castiel. I haven’t read anything like it before and it deserves ten times the attention it has currently has. If you didn’t hate Dick Roman already, you definitely will coming out of this epic. And I guarantee you’ll never look at leviathans the same way again.
