I'm going to be balantly honest and say that already I'm getting annoyed with how people are treating Rose. Not just Rose, but also how folk are just... flat out only bothering to highlight how she's Trevor's daughter, as if Sypha isn't her mother and would've been the one who actively helped Rose manage the magical side of her training???
Like... Call me a spoilsport or whatever, but the fact that we're not even given anything about Sypha— her literal mother— besides a lone locket feels like a cop out and once again reducing a female character to just "oh yeah that's just a mother", as if Sypha didn't literally also help take down Dracula with Alucard, Grant and Trevor.
Like cool, thanks for older Trevor and all, but are you going to actually acknowledge that Sypha's more than just a mother, or stick with the inherent sexism of reducing a powerful woman to the role of 'mother'? And yes, fans are doing this too; you aren't exempt from the effects of passive sexism.
