he corners robby and questions why he is acting like that and ends up finding out that well… you may or may not have justified the divorce by saying you were having dreams about jack… specifically dreams where dr abbot fucks you in different ways and positions
michael looks at him expecting a reaction, maybe proof of a past betrayal, but jack just steps back, he does not even finish his shift properly, he just runs to the house you used to share with robby and rings the doorbell
you are mortified to see him there but before you can say anything he says: want to make your dreams real?

the pitttwt is imploding with spoilers. and if any of the spoilers are believed to be true, what was the point of any of it? zero climax, zero resolutions, none of the previous storylines followed through on. like, nothing. what the fuck happened in that writers room after the lighting in a bottle that season 1 was?? a pointless season, im so so so disappointed on so many levels.
i just found out that supriya said LAST MONTH that she was expecting to be in s3. and they have been writing season 3 for a WHILE. supriya oh supriya. this is fucking heinous HOW are they treating her this badly. how did they not tell her. WHY? it's not even disrespect of her character but her as a person at this point

why would they announce supriya leaving three episodes before the season ends? i'm voting it's an unintentional leak that’s misleading or an intentional fake-out, in the sense of losing mohan for good.
the pitt: night shift is coming.
abbot is really popular and shawn is getting a ton of well-deserved recognition as an actor. shen is a fan favorite. ellis is moving to series regular on the pitt so there's space for an r4 on nights. more lena please and thanks. henderson and toomarian just launched and we already love them.
hbo is greedy as fuck and would have no reason not to capitalize on the show's popularity assuming the showrunners are on board. people involved have already said the pitt is relatively inexpensive to produce. it's a format that's proven to work. why wait? lock the actors in now while they presumably have the bandwidth. another white male lead is far from ideal but abbot is the most developed option in place and from a purely marketing perspective you probably do need a lead. shawn could absolutely handle that role.

mohan needs a better teacher, or at least a different teaching style. she needs a break from the psychotic day shift environment that's been created. not that i think night shift is in any way easy or relaxing.
so. mohan's season two story ends with her melting the fuck down and then someone suggesting she switch shifts to try a change of environment rather than giving up on emergency medicine entirely. professionally, it makes the most sense for it to be abbot ("the future of medicine" etc etc) but on god i do not want this to be a shipping thing.
and that's how we get to keep our girl.

In all honesty, Supriya leaving the show checks out with the way they handled Samira’s character development or lack there of in Season 2. I mean, they essentially used Samira as a prop to showcase Robby spiraling out like she’s some fucking plot device/accessory, and you’re telling me we won’t get to see her next season? At all? The craziest thing is there’s so much praise about how Supriya/Samira is the beating heart of the show and we definitely got more of that in S1 than in S2, but now she’s just gone for “narrative purposes”? I call bullshit.
She had limited screentime this season, the writing for her character was subpar, and in all honesty this season in particular has really been lacking in keeping the “ensemble cast” feel from S1 when they’re so focused on Robby, Robby, Robby, and I’m sick of it. The writers in the room can’t decide on a cohesive message across the season, it’s bloated to account for so many things at once including new characters, and you can just tell they didn’t know what to do with Samira this season so their solution is to write her off. It’s so fucking lazy and sad. Y’all aged down Samira just to fit Supriya after her audition, and now you won’t even bother to give her a proper character arc? Y’all couldn’t even support or defend Supriya when she was dealing with racism from the press and they’ve said that. Man fuck y’all.
I seriously can’t wrap my head around how they give us such a great character in Samira Mohan just to write her off for “narrative purposes” which I’m honestly calling bullshit. She’s a part of the MAIN cast? I don’t fucking get it? And the craziest thing about this is they will introduce new characters in S3 that will attempt to fill in the gap Samira left and it’ll just miss the mark, the same way they missed the mark with Heather being written out. By S4 all of the white characters will remain lol. Could’ve written off literally ANYBODY else but it just had to be Samira right? Idgaf if it’s realistic, it fucking sucks and it’s bad writing, I don’t care.
I’m very happy that Ayesha’s character as Parker Ellis is getting promoted to season regular, but I have no faith in the writers’ ability to honor that given they already took out 2 characters who add so much to the story. They took out Heather, they’re now taking out Samira. Literally who’s next? I want to know.
I’m over it. I really am. This show had such a great start at the beginning and it’s just slowly going downhill. This makes me want to watch & engage with the show less and less. I’m not watching the Robby show, I’m just not. And this news dropping today when we still have 3 episodes left is so funny, couldn’t even wait until the season was done airing. Y’all got it fr. I’m wishing Supriya Ganesh the absolute best in her career, I really am it’s what they deserve. 🙏

i'm probably gonna say very little about fandom discourse around this ep because spring break starts next week and i'm running out of sanity but actually. i love everyone on the pitt being flawed and fucked up and nasty sometimes. i love robby being a hypocrite and repulsed by samira's anxiety because he's repulsed by his own. i love that, alternatively, samira is repulsed by her mother's loneliness because she's repulsed by her own, too. i love santos blaming langdon for her ostracization at the ED and her unwillingness to see that, separate of the langdon issue (however separate you can make it), if you go around being an asshole to your peers all the time, some people are just not going to fucking like you. i love that its garcia specifically who checks santos for the lack of decorum she's displaying in front of their patients in this ep because garcia herself could arguably stand to have a bit more decorum when talking about patients and she's also treating santos like a dogggg right now. i love that mel is overstepping boundaries with becca and coddling her in a way that doesnt allow becca the space she deserves to be an autonomous adult with autism who should be respected on her own terms because mel's also struggling with what it means to be an autonomous adult with autism who should be respected on her own terms. i think there's a difference between a show depicting characters behaving badly and cosigning their bad behavior. i think a good character and a good person are separate categories. i love that this is a show that isn't so obsessed with likability that it keeps its characters from behaving badly.
frankly, i hope these characters keep fucking up, and i hope they keep getting checked by their fellow fuck ups, because that's life, brother. there is no divine priestly class of sinless people who exist to tell the "bad" people off for their missteps. and i hope that, as the show progresses, we see robby, santos, mohan, langdon etc make more mistakes and better mistakes. and i love that this show, for all its flaws, is (imo) still holding true to its premise that people are not wholly defined by their best moments or their worst. no matter how uncomfortable it is to sit with that nuance or how tense that makes an episode of television lol.
