even though Addison is objectively better behaved and more straight laced than Jessalyn, she is somehow constantly putting her foot in her mouth in front of Jessalyn's family. We're talking calling Harper crazy in a fun casual way and then trying to walk it back so so so awkwardly and making it 100 times worse. Thinking she's alone with Jessalyn as she talks about how she was scared of Clara BEFORE she found out about the manslaughter, only to realize Clara has been standing right behind her the whole time. Saying a completely innocent comment at Sunday dinner that is one of Wade's trap cards to start ranting about his political views, derailing all of dinner and causing everyone to start yelling.

quick headcanon time:

i’ve always thought that this lady, from the magicians’ room in FIN, was dexter egan’s bio mom. we know from the scrapbooks that dexter never took ezra’s last name, even as a child, so it stands to reason that “egan” came from his birth parent(s). and we also know from the scrapbooks that dexter would have been born sometime in the 30s, so the timeline works out. if allison was a woman making a living from a solo act in that time period, that also explains why she might not have felt able/willing to raise a child. (plus, if that’s dexter’s mom’s last name, that would have made it an out-of-wedlock pregancy, which again might explain why allison put him up for adoption. it’s possible egan is her married name, of course, but that doesn’t go as well with my theory, now does it?)
