Being a Ned Nickerson enjoyer in the Nancy Drew fandom truly be rough. Like yeah my boy is a little bit of a stale cracker, but you neglect his important role in the story as just "the guy".
where every other mystery story has a single woman character and she fulfills the role of "the girl".
Theres Ned. It's him, the gender role breaker, "The Guy". Leave my mans alone, i need Nancy and her friends competent, and any time i see Ned not present i must suffer with the women becoming less competent from the writers and I WILL NOT HAVE IT. LET MY MAN BE A LITTLE DAMSEL IN DISTRESS, JUST A LITTLE GUY. HE LOVES HIS COMPETENT MYSTERY SOLVING GIRLFRIEND.

Original SCK unique feature
Ok so there I start my reviews! I will be posting these short paragraphs and then will compile them into something more of volume and comprehension.
So I have been playing the ORIGINAL SCK (OSCK??) - God bless the progressive piracy - and I have noticed something.
In original SCK there is a kind of unique feature of "introductory dialogues". When you meet one of the suspects for the first time you may talk to them about different topics and you will get different answers and different kinds of information.
F.e. with Hal you may talk about Jack, about his career and the way he lives in US and you may take dialogues to different places. Same can be seen in Stay Tuned For Danger, but not as prominent.
Later in games you get the same kind of answers and the same dialogues whatever you say. You just check the phrases off the list, choosing them not really carefully, because you don't care.
In first two games you kinda should!
That just makes the original SCK a little bit more special.
We can confirm that this is the case over at ndconceptarchive (through our own various playthroughs of the game and also a couple of reviews that I've found- obviously we didn't write the original code).
In SCK, the dialogue trees are purposefully limited. Some dialogue options are available only once in the entire game and then if you missed them, you have to replay from the beginning (or at least from before that particular I guess).
There is a pretty hysterical example of this where Nancy tells Hulk that she's afraid of manatees:

so to understand the Thanksgiving Incident you have to understand the story of my dead cousin Charlotte. She’s pretty well known around here but for those not from around here, she died on her 21st bday from a fire my mom started but she didn’t confess to that until a couple DECADES later…

Call me paranoid but I refuse to play Hangman. Someone once manipulated me into signing something using that stupid children's game.
Seriously they had me write something nice for a "fan" by guessing the letters in the right sequence and then they gave the scrap of paper to this STALKER who--no joke-- had them leave it inside a SKULL in the CATACOMBS.. If I had a nickel for every time someone tricked me into signing something, I'd have two nickels. Not a lot but weird that it happened twice and all that.

Truthfully, I am beginning to think Tumblr was the wrong website on which to share my horticultural genius.
