The news of losing Randy was something I'd never expected in 2026💔

Took nearly two hours for my operating system to update everything so to say my mood is in annoyance mode is an understatement but this GIF of Robert Stack from Airplane! makes me feel better.

My heart is absolutely broken at reading the news about the passing of one of my all time favorite actors, Randy Mantooth, on July 9. For those who are unfamiliar, he played Johnny Gage in Emergency!, in the 1970s and he was part of the EMS community as the show focused on lives of paramedics and their life-saving actions out in the field before a patient would be taken to the hospital.

Years ago, I had a chance to meet Randy at the EMS event taking place in the state where I live and unfortunately, it never happened because I ended up becoming ill with a sinus infection. Thankfully, one of my long time friends drove there and surprised me with an autograph from him, as well as a hello since I wasn't able to make it. That has stayed with me for a long time and I'll never forget it.

I'm shattered at hearing the news as I rewatched the reruns of the show in the late '90s and he fought two battles of cancer. He's finally at peace now with no more pain💔

Rest in peace, Randy and fly high with the angels😇🪽
