When is enough, enough?
I used to think my mindset was so strong. I subconsciously have all the tools I need in life to succeed, but I wasn’t aware of them. All my life, I have been taught promises of the bible, yet didn’t know how to apply them or discern them.
We all make excuses to why we are where we are and live off self pity. The truth is, that is cancer to our growth. We have created habits of replaying the past in our minds and we are stuck living there. It’s comfortable to be there, I get It.
But you have to ask yourself, “when is enough, enough?” Where has this taken you in all the years you have lived? I don't know about you guys, but for me, I felt like I was running around in circles in a forest. And then one day, I was called to read “Ask and It is Given” by Esther and Jerry Hicks.
That book changed my life forever. It confirmed the spirit that lived inside of my soul, that craved change and more in life. Since then, it’s been a wonderful ride. Challenging? Yes, indeed. I realize as funny as this sounds, when you desire to change and do better, you are put into situations to switch your reactions to certain obstacles, to create new neuro-pathways to change the way we look and deal with things.
Here’s the things, you have to stop the “woe is me” card or “poor me”, and you must look at the situation from a different perspective and realize, ok, this is happening for me to grow apart from this. And that mindset changes everything... It helps you transform your mind, soul and spirit into a new person by practicing this. Remember this, “if you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change”.
I’ve learned through listening to personal development through the teachings of Kevin Trudeau, that there are 4 steps to process new information.
Unconscious Incompetence - This is when you don't know what you don't know. Many people struggle in reaching goals and living the life they desire because there are pieces of the puzzle missing in their understanding of areas such as life, personal finance and business.
Conscious Incompetence - At some point in the learning process, you start becoming aware of what you don't know and are willing to seek knowledge beyond what you already possess. There is so much to learn and apply, especially in key areas that will determine your happiness, abundance and comfort.
Conscious Competence - You begin thinking about the mechanics of learning something new. It is the ability to be aware of the growth in a trained skill. In the beginning, more time and attention is required to comprehend concepts and implement them in practice. You have the newly acquired information needed to accomplish a task, but you have to remind yourself of the steps or process involved. It doesn't come naturally.
Unconscious Competence -This is when you can operate at a mastered skill level without thinking about it. The terms "know like the back of your hand" or "it's second nature" or "it's like riding a bike" speak to this level of understanding. Once you learn, you will always be able to do It.
I believe at this point in my life, I am at the conscious competence level. Many of the things that used to make me upset, mad or put me in a bad mood no longer serves in my body. There is no room for that anymore, and It took years of practice and a lot of mediation. I’ll get more into that later, but this right here has been so vital to my growth and I believe It can be for everyone that reads this blog.
