The fact that the "BEYONCĂ?" "I just know his dick is big" "I'm so sorry this ugly bitch would say that about you oh my god" "You are the only bitch in this house I ever respected" "Why don't you take a look at the material?" reaction pics are not only all of the same woman and all happened within the same season of a show... that's herstory.
hbomberguyâs latest video on plagiarism has made me completely rethink literature and writing. I have never once so much as considered intentionally plagiarizing anyone or anything, but I thereâs something more that has come out of this and itâs the names of the people who created the works Somerton (and others) ripped off.
Plagiarism isnât just bad because it is lazy and disrespectful, itâs bad because it buries the truth. If you canât find a source, the conversation is over. Somertonâs sources are fairly easy to find by simply searching his plagiarized lines, but that isnât true in most cases. Most of the time, the line is a lot less clear.
Today, I was writing a report on English Ivy, which is an invasive species here in the US. I wanted to know when it was introduced and I at last found a source claiming it was introduced to the US âas early as 1727â on a .net website that seems quite reputable (it has multiple major universities credited in its home page), but there is no citation for where this date came from. I dug deeper and found a pamphlet created by a city government in Virginia that made the same claim, only to discover the first source linked in their bibliography. Another website (a botanical gardenâs page) gave the same date with the same source hyperlinked. Of course, I have classes to attend and things to do and probably not enough time to follow the lines back to where this 1727 date came from, but if I had not just watched this video, I wouldnât have given that date a second thought.
Of course, it doesnât matter in the long run exactly what year hedera helix was introduced to the US, but it makes you wonder how many facts have been so vaguely attributed that it becomes completely impossible to figure out where they originated (and further, whether or not theyâre true at all).
I need minors to learn how to lie online again. Your name is Derek, youâre 25 and work in accounting now. Please for your own safety learn how to fucking lie. And if you donât want to lie, then donât put your age anywhere. Donât even say whether youâre a minor or not. It is perfectly easy to avoid adult spaces without signposting that you are doing so because youâre a child.
Stating your age doesnât protect you this only makes you a target.
i was going to gif it but then decided the gifs wonât do this scene justice.

the world if i could go even 24 hours without hearing about taylor swift
FINALLY some good fucking feature ideas from the tumblr devs. tamagotchi renaissance now
So uuuuhhhhâŠgot my daughter a yogurt this morning and learned something new.
Guys I just realized they meant thereâs a city in Texas called Ding Dong. I thought the people at GoGurt were really like, âDING DONG! WAKE UP SHEEPLE. BIG GOVERNMENT DOESNâT WANT YOU TO KNOW. TEXAS IS REAL. LOOK IT UP. GET THIS TO THE PEOPLE.â Like some big exec at Yoplait is ready to lose his life over exposing a national secret through the medium of childrensâ yogurt snack tubes.
when I was around twelve I used to sit at the family computer and send hatemail to a white french dude named Jacques who was a self proclaimed communist on Tumblr. This was back in the day when you didn't need a blog to send anon hate. I had no real beef with him but I just didn't like his tone. used to send him "SHUT UP Jacques" periodically. and he'd answer every single one of my asks like "who is this?? show your face or I'll fucking kill you" and I'd be like "now now, that doesn't make sense, jacques" all haughty and he'd get so fucking mad at me. One time he posted a selfie and I sent him an ask claiming I was a psychologist and that his hair parting suggested that he wasn't a communist at all. and he took it deliriously serious and went off on a 2,000 word rant. I can remember going to stay at my grandparents over that weekend, so I didn't even respond to the rant until I came back. I could've chosen to end it there, but when I returned, I sent him another ask which was like "psychologist here again: if you were a communist your hair parting would be in the middle. evenly distributed. All behavioural signs point to someone who doesn't take their own values seriously." and he went ballistic. really swearing at me. all caps type beat. he never turned the asks off, btw. which always made me wonder if he didn't know how to, or if he didn't want to cause he was convinced he was fighting a war, and this action would ensure he lost it. anyway this went on for weeks until one day I completely forgot about him like he was some kind of childhood imaginary friend I'd conjured up in my loneliness. but yesterday I happened to recall the whole scenario, because my buddy was like "remember when you were twelve and I came over to your house, and you showed me on the computer how you'd been terrorizing this random French guy for days on end. And you were laughing like fucking crazy. and I said it wasn't funny because he probably had problems, and you were like 'oh.' and you looked a bit guilty for a second, but then you went and got a grapefruit from the kitchen and threw it out of the second story window at my kid brother, who was playing in the street, and then you started laughing again?" Well. when she put it like that, needless to say I felt bad. so Jacques if you're out there I'm sorry I was such a little shit. you had totally normal hair, and you only wanted people to share stuff. If it's any consolation I know every day of my life that I'm probably going to hell for the sick things I have done
Please note the date on this comic.
i'm actually very okay with "there was no other way this could end" endings. if they gotta die, let them die. if they gotta break up or go the wrong way or lose something important, let'em. so long as it completes the story. only thing i dislike more than a forced happy ending is a forced bad ending
look i love women but if taylor swift doesnât shut the fuck up about feminism i might become a misogynist
like how am i supposed to feel anything other than disgust to see another article about her talking about her influence, her money, and her âgirlboss indifference to criticismâ in a time when sheâs used her influence in almost 0 beneficial ways, is spewing out 2000x the average annual carbon emissions per person, has just achieved billionaire status (which is never ethical) and still canât stop milking her paycheck to paycheck fans for $19.89 heheh iâm so quirky!!!, and in general has just made some really gross moves lately that donât sound very feminist to me personally and are directly contradictory to everything sheâs ever claimed she stood for
and one more thing, i think that criticizing anyone who says anything like this by saying that they lack ânuanceâ is weaponizing a buzzword you donât understand lol
ânuanceâ is what itâs called when i recognize that i think taylor swift is a terrible person but i still like her music, it is NOT what itâs called when you notice someone being a bad person but you decide that to you it doesnât matter because you like their music. thatâs called âcognitive dissonance.â
hope that helps.
