Chest rising steady and falling slowly with each breath he took, with a timberland clad foot hanging out the window of his classic mercury cougar, the Lockhart Alpha was surely a sight to behold as he slept off the numerous drinks he had partook in that night. Getting drunk and then being forced to sober up in his car was something he was used to, in fact - it was one of the many things he hadn’t grown out of since getting control of the pack like he had always wanted. While he had dropped some of his more illicit criminal activities and hobbies, getting drunk to the point where he couldn’t even drive himself home wasn’t something he felt he needed to stop doing. It was harmless – for the most part since most of the citizens of Fairmoore Alpha or not lacked the gall to try and rob the man who had been locked up in some form of way since he was teen. Unless to wake him over some matter or another, no one bothered him and he didn’t bother them. Smacking his lips as he shifted in his sleep, right arm still strewn over his eyes in an attempt to block out the street light he had the misfortune of being parked under, the alpha groaning in his sleep idly scratched at the bare skin of his chest – his white button up shirt having come undone sometime during the last hour he had been camped out in his car.

For the first time in a rather long time Matteo was left speechless. He didn’t know what to say to Rhys without coming off as entitled or bitchy and he was trying to control the attitude that sometimes came out. His right hand was hidden behind the counter as he curled it into a fist, inhaling and exhaling rather deeply to try and control his rage. “I guess whatever you say goes. You are the big boss man around here, right?” A fake smile was glued onto his face while the man looked at him. What happened next did surprise him though, how Rhys was just going to make his drink and changed his mind just like that. Maybe pretty people did have it better. This time with a much more genuine smile, Matteo moved both of his hands to rest on the counter. “Thank you. I’ll make sure to leave a good tip for making you go against your natural way of things around here.”

"That’s right, I am.” He agreed finally, waiting for the fake smile to turn into a much more sincere one before actually starting on making his drink. Reaching under the counter, he grabbed a shaker and pulled it up top before moving to the mini fridge stationed under the back walls liquors to get the rest of the ingredients. “Oh yeah? You gonna bless me?” He asked, a smirk turning his lips up as he lifted himself up from a squat, his hand filled with various bottles. Placing them down next to the shaker, Rhys able to count out the measurements needed in his heads started making the man’s drink. “Well, aren’t awfully nice? Haven’t seen you around here before. You new or do you just tend to come around when I’m not here?”

Paul’s annoyed. His hands have started to shake and his tolerance for the laymen has dropped to negative one thousand. He had woken up hungover and damn near didn’t make it to work on time. Which is why he hadn’t the opportunity to down a couple of his … happy pills. So yeah, he’s cranky. And then there’s this moron. “Here, let me repeat what I just said so your tiny little insect brain can understand: This is the trauma ward, not the I’ve got a papercut and it hurts ward. Capiche?” He pulls off his latex gloves with a snap. “Good news is, you’ll live. Now get out of my way.”

Rolling his eyes as the wolf lost his nerve and complied with the beta’s harshly spoken request, stepping up to fill in the wolf’s spot, with his his arms crossed across his chest he stared down at the doctor whose path he was blocking. “Heard. Now you hear me, my guys hurt. You’re gonna help him or I’m kick your teeth so far down your throat you’ll be shitting them out for years to come.” Hues boring down on the beta, the alpha blindly reached for the collar of his workers shirt before dragging him forward and pushing him in Paul's direction. “Also, if you think security is gonna be your best friend in this situation consider this: if you’re as rude to them as you are to us, I don’t think they’ll be jumping to rescue you. Fix him and we’re gone.”

Dropping his head into his open palm at Trevor’s reply, the Lockhart alpha could only shake his head in amusement before blindly pointing at the bottles decorating the back wall. “Vodka, tequila, rum, gin, triple sec, sweet and sour mix and some cola. That’s all you need to make an LIT. It’s not complicated, Trev and the funny thing is, people are likely to tip better if they can sip the drink they want while staring at a hot piece of ass too.”

Warren hates mornings – hates them with every fiber of his being. But, he’s got a job to do, so here he is at four AM, hair wet from a quick shower, his uniform pressed and ready to pull on. He trudges out to his patrol car, on automatic as he drives to the precinct. There’s coffee waiting for him there, if his men are smart. They know what a grumpy son of a bitch he is, sans coffee. He nods his head at Barbra as he enters, who tuts at him disapprovingly. (He must really look like shit, then.) He makes a b-line for the break room, going straight for the steaming pot of coffee. He pours himself a cup, takes a sip, and makes low noise of satisfaction. Realizing his isn’t alone, he glances over at the other, still half-asleep and crabby to-boot. “What?” 

Ignoring the sourly look being shot to him by at least - by his last count five different officers and the verbal warnings that accompanied said sourly looks, Lockhart unconcerned by them and their needs kept his feet on top of the sheriffs desk, even going as far as to smear the mud that decorated the bottom of his boots over the various important looking documents that were there. They needed something and he needed something but since they wanted to deny meeting his needs, he was gonna deny meeting there’s and those of them that had a problem with it could approach him wolf to wolf about it.

Twiddling his thumbs in his lap as the door to the station banged open, not needing to see who it was as the alphas scent immediately tainted the already foul smelling place, Lockhart muttering a ‘finally’ under his breath nudged his head in the general direction the Alpha had went stomping off. “You gonna grab him or what, cupcake? I wanna get out of here as much as you guys want me out so chop chop.” Watching as one of them went scampering off to grab their fearless leader while growing under his breath as he did so, chuckling under his breath as Warrens growled at his little worker bee, Rhys interrupted the officer before he could speak. “In here, sweetheart. We got a problem.”

Preston smirked ar Rhys. This little scare-tactic routine was nothing new to him, the Lockhart Alpha seemed to thrive on control, if anything. Lacing his fingers together after nudging the sign out of the way, he leaned forward again. “Then how about you forget the cosmo and just make me a drink?” he quirked an eyebrow in his direction. “Surprise me.” He gave a half smile before turning his attention to the usual bar traffic and riff-raff that was behind him. “I don’t go down there because I would rather support your local establishment, Lockhart. Is that such a crime?” he mused aloud. Shaking his head, he rotated in his seat once again to give Rhys his full attention. “Though I am curious, are you always this brash, or is it just a reaction you save especially for me?” he almost half-laughed  at his own comment because he knew better. Rhys was an enigma that Preston had yet to figure out, but it wasn’t stopping him from trying.

Helping him push the sign to the side and out of his face at the Mayors little nudge, Rhys matching the omegas pose locked his own fingers together and leaned further onto the counter as he blankly stared down the man, his gaze continuing to bore into the side of his head even as he turned it to glance around the room. Silently watching him as he mentally mulled over his request, it took a moment but he relented when he finally stepped back to reach under the counter. “Supporting us? That’s cute.” He commented mildly, his words harsh in meaning but his tone a step below biting. “Our upstanding Mayor supporting the very place the people who give him the most trouble love to hang out. That’s adorable.” Briefly meeting his gaze as he swiveled around in his chair to face him once more, the Lockhart alpha wrapped his hand around the thin short neck of the Vodka bottle before lifting it up and placing it between the them. “It’s just for you, sweetie. You’re special like that.” He commented dryly before grabbing two old fashioned tumblers and placing them beside the bottle. Twisting off the cap and tossing it between the two, filling both of the glasses up to the equivalence of a double shot, he set the bottle down before sliding one of the tumblers to the man while grabbing at and bringing close the other. “Only the very best for our beloved Mayor and at 192 proof, I figured only this would do. Bottom’s up.”

“Well usually you go to school for bartending not read it from a book. Given the book is much cheaper than the actual education” Brooks noted before quickly looking it up on the computer, he highly doubted it was checked out. Probably just misplaced, he organized this Library time and time again. But nobody excluding himself, seemed to have respect for books or organization. Maybe Fritz, but Brooks didn’t believe that counted considering the man was also a Librarian.  “Doesn’t look like it’s checked out Sir, do you want me to help you find it? It’s probably just a case of misplacement. In others words, someone must have moved it to another section of the Library and you just didn’t see it. I’m sure I can find it easy.” He claimed as he walked from behind the front desk. “Follow me please.” He motioned with his hand and made his way towards the upper floor, taking a right turn and walking to the end of the floor. “Let’s see if it’s just hidden first.” He said, beginning to search through the books and carefully reading each title. “Are you looking to become a bartender or is this book for someone else you know?” He might as well start up a conversation while they looked for the book.

“That’s fascinating. I don’t remember asking for that little tidbit of information but it’s fascinating nonetheless.” Speaking the word in a deadpan fashion, though he knew the younger wolf had a point, it wasn’t exactly getting him what he needed any faster. While he was sure most people would of course have a licensed bartender working their bar, Rhys saw fit to just hire the young pups that came running to his pack. Most of them could use the cash and with them working at the bar, they were less likely to wreak the town out of boredom. He saw it more as a win - win thing and with most of the cops not bothering to look at small details like licenses as long as they refused to serve minors, it worked out that way too. Tapping his fingers impatiently against the counter as the librarian provided him with unnecessary commentary to everything he did, hazel hues rolled as he silently set off behind the man at his request. Taking up post near the man when they finally got to the spot, Lockhart leaning heavily on the bookshelf stared down at him as he searched. “Anyone every tell you that you talk a lot, kid? Like a hell of a lot? You’d think a librarian would be more prone to silence but you-“ He reached down and flicked at a few stray strands of the betas hair. “Just can’t seem to shut your mouth.”

“The smell of pack is something really weird, if I’m honest – I’ve never experienced it before so its all very new to me. I used to be alone with my mom, and some kids from the neighbourhood back in Mexico… But never with an actual pack, so I hope I won’t be too much of the odd one out.” Rambling on about the whole pack dynamics, something that was new to the young Omega. “Sorry, by the way, I didn’t mean to bother you. I just… Wanted to tell someone.” Showing the other a somewhat crooked smile as he knew, he probably had embarrassed himself.

Waving off the young wolf as a way to stress that he wasn’t being a bother at all, tipping back his water bottle filled with liquor, he took a quick sip only wincing slightly at the burn before turning back to his newest pack mate. “You’ll be fine. None of us really know about the whole pack deal or whatever. I tend to think of it like this, we’re just a bunch of guys who sorta get along and who have each others back. Get it?” He asked, his brow quirking upward as he lifted up his bottle again to take another sip. “You won’t be the odd one out. Don’t stress it.”

“Is the bar out of cranberry juice or something? Because other than being short on supplies, I don’t see why you have to deny my request to make me a cosmopolitan. It’s not like it’s difficult to make, so what’s going on?” Even though Matteo ignored his instincts sometimes, he knew when to pick his battles and when to just give in, but a part of him didn’t want to give the bartender the satisfaction. “Give me a valid reason and then I’ll order whisky on the rocks.”

“Nope. Last I checked we’re stocked up on cranberry juice.” Replying with his back still turned to the gentleman, though he couldn’t see the type of reaction he was evoking from the man, he knew his lack of cooperation was irritating him in some way. “Nothing going on. Just not making a cosmo. That’s the only valid reason I gotta give you.” Words sharp as finally he turned to face the inquiring man, though he had planned to say more, whatever else that had been about to come out of his mouth died on his tongue as he glanced over at Matteo. “Well shit.” He murmured with a low throated chuckle. “Forget I said said anything. One cosmo coming up.”

Theo had entered the drinking establishment just before the altercation - for lack of a better descriptor - took place, and had made his way to the bar to peruse the fine alcohol on the cabinet currently facing the bartender. He took a seat just to the others side and leaned in slightly, noting the ugly, withered bar nuts that seemed to have never been changed for a brief moment before speaking. “I’ll take an Old Fashion, for the Old Fashion if you’d be so kind. Best whiskey you got.”

That was a request he could get behind. Nodding his head to signify he had heard him, he placed his clipboard to the side before reaching under the bar top to place a tumbler glass in front of the older man. “Take lessons, man. Now that’s a good drink.” Directing the statement toward the man who had ordered the cosmo and was currently going over various drinks in his head, Rhys taking pity on him pulled another glass from under the counter to start making him the same drink as the Sterling Alpha. “Long day over at the diner of yours, Sterling?”
