Consumption Is Devotion

There exists an continuum of Anthropophagy in the human race: the desire of consumption by way of taste, i.e., the need to experience flesh as sustenance; there also exists a psycho-sexual desire that transcends the need to consume rather than synthesize oneself with another—to become one with the victim through an act so carnal that there is no term to describe the exact feeling, thus, we ascribe it as “sexual” for the only universal human experience that is equitable is that of lust. I intend to explore that here.

Having an oral fixation is maddening. BFRBs suck ass, and sometimes I do feel like Maren Yearly in that I need bottles of listerine to numb my mouth of the desperate need to bite, tear, or render something I know I’ll regret following through on.

It’s psychological, but I’m torn between the want to fix it and the need to find something to satiate it.

This skull of a 14-year-old girl was the evidence that the first settlers in Virginia’s Jamestown Colony practiced cannibalism during the “Starving Time” winter of 1609. The remains of this butchered teenager was discovered in 2012. She was buried along with a number of butchered horse and dog bones. There had always been rumors and speculation that the settlers resorted to cannibalism as a means to survive but this was the first ever proof. The scratch marks from where the flesh was sliced from the face is evident. The trauma in the front of the skull is from where he skull was bashed open for the brain to be removed, according to Doug Owsley, a forensic anthropologist.
