happou:
Shura slipping into his arms (well, one arm right now, if he wanted to be technical) felt like two puzzle pieces being fitted next to each other. She was the one coming back to him, and yet, he was feeling like heâd just come home. He savoured the taste of her lips on his, and smiled at her more widely than he ever did smile at anyone, even despite the discomfort of having his limp arm stuck between them as he pulled her closer.
âFor a bit?â he asked, a hint of playfulness in his voice as he brushed her bangs to the side to press his lips against her forehead. âI shudder to think what will happen when you have to leave for a long time.â He was joking, of course; he knew Shura had felt the difficulty of their temporary parting just as heavily as he had. Sometimes, he still marveled at what they had, even after sheâd promised him all of her life â that, at one point, all heâd wanted to do was get away from her, and now, he didnât want to be apart for longer than half a day. He kissed her again, this time on her cheek, and then on the tip of her nose; this, too, was something only she saw, the openly affectionate side of the otherwise closed-off Okumura Yukio.
He pulled away a little when she spoke again, to glance down at his arm, then back up at her, a rueful smile on his mouth. âNobody; it was somewhat of an accident.â His smile widened a little. âAs a matter of fact, if you want to know, I quite literally tripped over a small rock.â Of course, what he wasnât saying was that at the time he was firing at two completely berserk Leapers, while also trying to get one of his students out of harmâs way.
Shura couldnât explain how she felt with his kisses showering her face, it was a strange mix of vulnerable and being at home. Two feelings she normally repressed, but with him, he always made her safe. Yukio was the only one who could make her feel like this. She pursed her lips and raised an eyebrow at his answer-- he was normally very cautious of his surroundings, how could he trip and injure himself so much? With a small sigh, she took his word for truth, it annoying her slightly in the back of her mind. âTry and be a bit more careful walkinâ âround then,â She kissed him on the tip of nose.
Taking her arms from around his neck, she felt for his hand on his good arm, intertwining her fingers with his. She lifted up his hand and kissed his knuckles, looking for any bruises that would hint heâd been in some kind of fight. âHavenât been too bored while I was gone, I hope~â Shura leaned up to kiss him again, then once more, then two times more. âI know ya probs had so much fun with ya paperwork anâ stuff~ Which reminds me!â She jumped just a bit in place, an excited smile on her face. âI actually did somâa mâ paperwork while gone!â
