But he adapts, keeping to himself aside from one quick trip to the human realm that triggers a minor plot deviation with major consequences.

After that experience, Shen Yuan retreats into solitude again… until the Immortal Alliance Conference, where he decides to intervene more intentionally in Luo Binghe’s fate. After taking the young protagonist under his wing, however, he’s surprised to learn just how much the story has already diverged from its origins.

And he and Luo Binghe are both surprised when the Bai Zhan War God, Liu Qingge, tracks them down—determined to ‘rescue’ the disciple who once saved his life.

I'm waiting for a proper translation to make a final judgment on the new svsss extras but so far most things I heard about them make me go "besides the name drops, none of this is canon to the original version of the novels".

Going through a bit of a mid-30s crisis, haha...

Been underpaid at work for a decade and I'm planning to ask for a relatively big raise soon (after learning that my coworker who got hired 3 years after me is making 10k more - no shade to him, he's a delight to work with and he was speechless when we exchanged our numbers.)

If they only offer me a pittance more, I'll want to change jobs but prospects are... limited. Pretty much all my technical knowledge is nontransferable and "I learn fast, trust me bro" doesn't usually cut it. The vast majority of offers for similar jobs are AI focused and I'd rather chew on a habanero pepper every day.

I'm considering maybe going back to school or preferably doing some night classes but I have no clue in what field. Everything I'm interested in is devalued as a job or requires the daily use of a car, and all the higher paying ones are either extremely stressful or emotionally draining.

Plus, my current job is just nice enough to make quitting a very daunting move, but the pay gap (both within the company and outside) makes me want to cry from the unfairness of it all. I was desperate for a job coming out of university and I regret not standing up for myself more. I didn't even use my degree because the job conditions were shit (I didn't want to have to look for a new job every time a project finished) and tech/website part has evolved so much in the meantime that everything I knew is obsolete. (No debt though, thankfully). I already had the panic about my knowledge being useless after 5 years of not learning anything new in the field, but then the pandemic started and I was just thankful to still /have/ a job.

The reality is that I'll most likely be my only "household" income my entire life, so that modest sum is harder to swallow. Especially when the boss has a ridiculously huge house that would enable me to immediately retire if I sold it and that they have a track record of emotionally manipulating me into accepting less than my work is worth.
