My cards! Color tinted, in-game, and also the base version without the tint.

The theme for each is: Hearts = medics, Clubs = Ops/intelligence, Diamonds = Justice/law, Spades = science. The suits are mostly arbitrary, I assigned the sets to suits after I picked the characters for each set.

Presumably it was supposed to project an image of utter masculinity.... which would surely test even the most soulless of generative AI programs, but this... THIS?

This may simultaneously be amongst the most horrifying AND most gay things I've seen in my long life.

The closest thing I can think of is those old Sino/Soviet posters all about men striving together which just looks like they're a slightly adorable gay couple, sometimes bringing up their kids together.

The central image strives for manliness, though I can only hear Jabba the Hutt's theme playing in my head as I look at it.

But the near naked, ALL MALE, totally toned (and possibly cloned) cheerleaders gleefully flinging their pompoms with gay [sic] abandon makes JC Leyendecker's work look butch.

Maybe I should try and write down my tf ideas the way I did with svsss... I don't have the spoons to write any of them, but I've had random bits of inspiration recently and maybe somebody can get inspired by them or just finds them fun to read...

#shut up tc #tbd #most of my random ideas are like. tfone au nonsense so I don't expect people to care much about those #but I've had some megop ideas that might work for this...#like. even if I wasn't currently caught up in writing a longfic I really want to finish before anything else #I should rewatch TFP before doing anything with my TFP-flavored ideas because it's been so long I forgot almost everything #but if I do I think I'm going to get pissed at the creators again and their absolute inability to write an emotional arc for anyone #also I know that's not the intended takeaway bc Orion just wanted the best for everyone #and Megatronus was secretly selfish and just hungry for power all along bla bla #but the way Orion took the matrix annoyed me so much just from the standpoint of #here's a movement by the opressed lower castes fighting for their rights led by a member of said lower caste #and then the council approaches the middle-upper class ally who's in a prominent position but still very much a bystander #and offers him the matrix and the recognition/political power Megatronus was asking for. and this is supposed to be a good and virtous thing #like. I don't know how to read this other than Orion unintentionally (?) hijacking the movement from under Megatronus #ignore for a moment that “Megatron was Evil and Bad TM all along”. what does this look like?? why is this presented as a good thing???#like. there's something you could do here with Orion's well-meaning ignorance and Megatronus' justifiable anger at being sidelined #leading to their fallout and the initial conflict. there's potential here for something really cool #but Optimus is Good and Megatron is Bad so Orion's actions were Correct tm #and I will never not be salty about the tbh

I don't know a good term for it, but there's a certain quality a work of fiction can have or fail to have, where, as a reader, you have some faith that the themes present in the work are there because the author knowingly put them there. That the curtains are not just blue, that you're reading something that has been written with intent. You can, of course, still do a death-of-the-author read on that kind of work, and no work only contains that which the author intends. But there are some works in which you look at even the most surface-level thematic content and wonder 'are... are you doing that on purpose? It kind of doesn't seem like you're doing that on purpose. I hope you're not', and it's very hard to express the difference between that kind of thing and an author who is clearly very intentionally exploring something a little uncomfortable.

#kind if the opposite of this is why I'm at hesitant to read project hail mary tbh #like. the author is an idiot who is very outspoken about how he hates it when a story has themes and deliberately never puts any in his work #which is like... talk about lack of self awareness for one #but also confirms that any themes existing in the story are accidental and that really tanked my opinion on the author and his writing #also yeah. something something when the author accidentally writes a horror story but they can't see it bc of their internalized biases #i read a story recently that seemed to have the beginnings of a good reproductive horror and abusive relationship going #with very stilted power dynamics and a lot of very understandable resentment on the part of the 'submissive' party #but they've been posting art and other stories from the same universe and they 100% want to turn it around into a happy family fairytale end #and I can't see how we could get from point A to point C in a way that doesn't involve author mandated brainwashing #of the “motherhood made her realize that her husband loves her n having a baby is the one special thing she needed to give her life meaning”#variety of fuckery that just gives me the ick tbh #it's fanfic so I think it's just the author trying to write romcom tropes they don't have the skill to execute #so it became stilted and unintentional horror #but I've seen many such cases in published novels too so...

"everyone should get more aromantic" can appeal to tumblr's sensibilities but I genuinely think everyone should also get more asexual. I don't mean everyone stop having sex, what I mean is

Sex is not essential. You can live without it. Full stop.

Not having sex isn't shameful or a sign of failure. It also doesn't make anyone boring.

You are not entitled to having sex with anybody and nobody is entitled to having sex with you.

Sex is not what makes someone an adult.

Nobody's worth is defined by how much sex they have or don't have.

Sex is not equally important to everyone.

You can have fulfilling and happy relationships without sex.

You should only have sex on your own terms, not because you feel like you owe it to someone, or because you feel like you'd be incomplete without it.

Know your boundaries around sex and be firm about them. Know how to respect other people's boundaries.

The previous point also applies when it comes to discussing sex. If someone doesn't wanna talk about it or hear about it you have to back down.

Anything can be sexual but not everything has to be sexual.
