What Intelligent Talent Matching Means For Job-Hunters
Who HASN’T ever performed a keyword search as part of their hunt for a job? I think we all know the drill.
We search by job title. We search by a particular skill. We search by company or industry.
We look for that sweet spot between a search that is so broad that only half of the results seem to be relevant, and a search that is so specific that the only thing the job board has for us is, “Your search yielded no results.”
DevPlateau doesn’t use keywords. We don’t use your standard recommendation algorithms. YES.
Job-hunters spend an average of 11 hours per week in their search for employment. 11 hours. Add that to the 40 hours you’re already working, not to mention non-work responsibilities. And at the end, does it actually pay off? We’ll come back to that.
In the meantime, where are those 11 hours a week going?Â
Keyword searches, for one thing. Sorting through contacts from headhunters. A lot of time goes into making sure they’re contacting you about a job you actually want, for a company that is legitimate, and with earning potential that doesn’t make you die a little inside. And if you don’t take that due diligence time? Well then your time easily gets eaten up by interviews that lead to nowhere - or at least, nowhere you want to go.
So, inefficient? Absolutely. Now, about that solution I mentioned?
