I’m slowly beginning to accept the reality that 2007 was not last year but in fact almost four years ago
I love going viral on tumblr.com. It’s like if you stood in a field and said some of the stupidest shit a human being is capable of and then like fifty thousand crows attacked you
Don’t do this to me
my brother in christ you made the post

Baneful magic ingredients and their correspondences
I got a LOT of these from @afledglings-guideto-witchcraft when they answered an ask I sent in, that blog is a fantastic place for information whether you've been practicing a few days or a few years imo.
I've been posting a lot about trying to find information on this subject and now I've gotten a good list compiled in a google doc and figured I'd share it with y'all, feel free to add on your own notes or just any commentary you have or experiences you've had using certain ingredients. I'm using some of these to make a hex jar to try and help a friend out with a shitty abusive household, which I might post more about if y'all would be interested in it, or if I just feel up to it.
Black pepper: bad luck, punishing negative energies
Pickle juice: to bring sourness
Broken glass: cutting ties, warding off negative energies, pain
Black salt: banishment
Thumb tacks: pain and suffering
Rotten tea/anything moldy: for detriment on their life
Hot peppers: pain, irritation, burning, anger
Garlic: disgust and repulsion
Dead matches: to drain energy
Salt: to intensify wounds, to sting, to keep someone away
Mustard seed: strife and discord
Onion: breaking relationships/habits/etc, strife
Lemons: causing pain (think lemon juice on a cut), souring a relationship, or any good luck the target has been receiving lately.
Rusty Nails: can be stabbed into lemons, or added to sour jars/hex jars. Pins the hex/curse to the target.
Vinegar: souring, dissolves relationships
Poppyseed: intoxication and confusion
Alum: stops communication/speech.
Small pickles: male impotency
Beet pickles: female hormonal problems
Thick mud: darkness, suffocation, feeling trapped
Feces/urine: to make their life nasty
Black candle wax or strings: binds the curse to the target
Coffee: insomnia
Tea: lethargy/oversleeping
Gravel: Being crushed and stepped on by life and the people around you
Don't ever let anyone tell you you are a bad person or you're going to get hurt if you practice baneful magic at all no matter what. The threefold law is a rule that Wiccans follow, no one else is obligated to believe in it, I respect people who believe in it and they should respect people who don't. Always make sure to judge a situation very carefully and use this magic appropriately.
And, very very important, research on how to protect yourself from a spell backfiring (because you can get hurt), make sure that your intention is very focused on your specific target(s), and, if you're doing something similar to what I'm doing, do something (protection jars, spells, etc) to protect other people around this person or people from the effects of the jinx, hex, or curse. Oh and if you're casting a spell on someone else who practices witchcraft, make sure you know the signs if they deflect the spell back onto you and try and do what you can to prevent that from happening.
HOW TO ENCHANT
Enchantments are used widely by witches and practitioners in the community for many different reasons. It can be super helpful within your craft, as enchantments are basically portable spells that you wear or items around your home made magical for a specific purpose
Why: Enchanted items can act like a spell that you wear or carry. It can look like a simple necklace or a ring or earrings, a rock you found in the garden, pretty much anything you want. They help bring about a magical intention. (This can also be done with larger objects around the home, but i suggest the third or fourth method below for that) It itself becomes imbued with magic, your power, and intention to bring about your chosen action.
How: There are a few methods to choose from that are listed below. Some methods may not work well for most people so I made sure to include a handful of different methods to choose from.
The first method is putting herbs that match your intention into a bowl of water with a candle in the middle. Place your jewelry or item you wish to enchant in the water, and speak your intention over the bowl. Light the candle and let your small item sit for as long as you feel is necessary.
The second method is to use energy and your own intention to activate it. Just hold it in your hands and focus, meditate with it and put energy that matches your intention into the item you're holding. You can also use elemental energy for this as well. Visualize yourself holding a piece of earth to create a grounding effect. A ball of fire for passion or love or energy. Water for intuition, psychic abilities, peace, etc. Air for mental agility, communication, freedom, etc. This also works for larger items as well, just direct your energy instead of palming it.
The third is to write a petition down on paper, what you want the enchantment to be, any limits you want it to have, anything you want it to achieve, and even how you wish it to recharge and cleanse itself if you desire it. Fold the paper a couple times (works best if its longer than it is wide), Burn the paper and bathe the piece of jewelry or the item in the smoke. Put out the smoldering paper in some water or snuff it out. it doesn't have to burn to completion.
You can also dip the item in oils that match your intention, or anoint larger objects with the oil of your choice.
There's no special trick to it and every witch does it differently. Do whatever method works best for you in your practice.
one thing I love about being pagan is that, well, the gods don't love you. cuz like, they don't know you. and if you ask them for something, you gotta come at them real and on the level of they're gonna be like "yuck."
that whole "eternal and boundless love for all mankind that's actually pretty fuckin conditional" never made sense to me. But y'know what does make sense?
If I was sitting under a tree one day and an ant crawled into my finger and waved his little legs at me, and in my divine wisdom I knew he was asking for help getting more food to bring back to his colony, I would help that fuckin ant. Not because I really have a reason to. But what a fun thing to happen.
I like to think that's what the gods think of me. I'm a funky little ant with funky little ant problems.

by sheer coincidence, there’s a completely different kind of gecko endemic to Australia (underwoodisaurus/nephrurus milii ) which is also called the Common Barking Gecko:

Little Witchcraft Things To Implement In Daily Life When The Motivation Is Lacking
I've been lightly/casually practicing witchcraft for about 5 months now. as much as I love my craft and feel comfortable with it, I find that my motivation to study/do tarot/cleanse and charge crystals/literally do anything comes in waves. I've passed the last two holidays not really doing anything in particular other than a tarot reading for myself.
for a while, I felt really bad about it, wondering if I even "deserve" to call myself a witch. I soon realized that practicing this craft isn't like a homework assignment you must complete or a deadline you must meet before a certain time. thinking of it like that makes my anxious, schooled-out brain tired even now. even still, I wanted to figure out some ways to practice my craft at my own pace and maintain its prevalence in my life without burning myself or taking time from the other important things in my life. so, here's a little list of things that I do every day, maybe it'll help someone else along the way :)
always wear my quartz necklace when I go out, for general protection and anti-bad vibes
bring a tarot deck in my bag with me everywhere I go
take a look at my The World card charm as a little reminder that what will be will be
stare at the moon a little bit whenever I get the chance, to calm myself down, relax, and soak in her feminine energy, almost like I myself am a crystal needing to be charged
sit down in the sun while I do homework or read, letting the masculine powers motivate me for the task at hand as well as for future endeavors later
either a) make my own coffee, taking time to practice mindfulness as I do it, b) make tea, picking out a specific flavor with my intuition, letting it guide what I need to focus on and appreciate that day, or c) go out and get my own caffeine somewhere else and being as kind as possible to the workers to establish that good energy for the day
talk and listen to my talkative cat; you never know what guidance she may have for me
try to go outside and walk anywhere I go instead of driving if I can help it; nature is so beautiful and I often forget to appreciate it with all my busyness
it's not every day, but I try to take out my ukulele and guitar to just sit and play with the strings, almost like a bit of sound meditation/cleansing for myself
about once a month if I have a night where I sleep bad, I always light some incense and take a walk around my room, cleansing the area of bad energy and just readjusting the vibes
in moments of anxiety, stress, anger (which has been affecting me a lot recently), sadness, or what have you, stop whatever I am doing to sit and feel those emotions, practice some deep breathing techniques, and remember that I have control of myself and myself only, keeping in mind that the universe will look out for me
if anyone has any other suggestions, please drop them here!! they'd be really appreciated! I hope this list helps at least someone who feels the way I do, since I know (especially for baby witches/witches with mental health problems) that it often feels very overwhelming to do anything to practice your craft. as the weather grows colder and the sun comes out less and less, seasonal affectedness is starting to come out of the woodwork for many, including myself, so it's about time to really hammer in those "little things" into a daily routine so as to maintain your craft when things get funky. of course, whatever feels right to you is always best, this is just how I'm feeling about the approaching winter. :)
if anyone has any extra tips with dealing with a lack of motivation, witchcraft with mental illness, or the like, those would also be appreciated for the good of the order. have a wonderful rest of your day, week, month, and year and blessed be!! <3
The Sabbats: Samhuin
Pronunciation: SOW-win, Sow-ween or SOW-Un.
Samhuin, Samhaine, or Samhain, is the first and last Sabbat on the Wheel of the Year. Since the beginning, many practitioners believe this to be like a modern day new year, bringing a large emphasis on reflection and honoring ancestors.
Halloween originated from this ancient Gaulish tradition, in which lights and food were placed as offerings of peace to the spirits lurking out side. This time marks when the veil between the spirit world and ours is the most thin, making it much easier to both detect and encounter malevolent and passive spirits alike.
However, this tradition roots even deeper to the visitations of the Tuath Dé Danann, a tribe of Irish spirits and deities who would use a Féth Fíada (‘magic mist’) to veil themselves often, but always appearing on Samhuin.
Although not commonly celebrated anymore, many practitioners and witches take this Holiday as a sign to connect to their past, their future, and their present in a new enlightened spiritual perspective.
Many take this time to honor their ancestors and recently departed through candlelight and dumb suppers, with offerings of wine and poultry.
