no matter what verse, world or time dex is written in, grey will always be her best friend. no one will take his place nor replace his importance in her life and, while she can find friends and structure in other characters, he will remain that centre pillar along with her younger brother ansel.

grey has always known how troubled dex truly was and never pushed her to be more than what she was capable of. he realised that one drunken hook up was all she could manage, and he respected that. dex was soon reliant on him; his lack of pushing and ability to make her feel better in a friend capacity slowly became something she actually needed in her life. grey was something she couldn’t live without, and she has no intention of doing so.
