So many straight people have derailed my post about the hate crime/act of terrorism in Salem, Massachusetts, where a local gay newspaper box was blown up, and made it about how I’ve generalized straight people too much.
I want you to know from the bottom of my cold shriveled gay heart that we all see how transparent you are. We all know exactly how you feel and see us, even those of you who say you support us are usually misguided and ill-informed.
Straight people have terrorized myself, my brothers and my sisters for too long. All of y'all think that just because we’ve achieved marriage equality (this part I’m literally scoffing at) and there are some gross buzzfeed polls out there saying the gays are accepted, all of a sudden means that we’ve reached true equality and it’s only a small minority of straight people terrorizing our community daily? As if I don’t walk down the street in a liberal city like Boston and have the word faggot thrown at me.
How dare you comment on a post about a hate crime against my community. As if any of us asked you to speak. Speak when you are spoken to, from now on. We’re still mourning from Orlando and you think you have the room to comment on my people in a time like this?
The nerve.
